System Admin for a Saudi Engineering Company my itForte - Job Detail System Admin for a Saudi Engineering Company Required Skills: The selected candidate will maintain IT infrastructure and network; implementation, upgrade, monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance tuning activities; IT asset management, provide technical support in terms of installations both operating systems and other software to the systems or devices connected to network or stand-alone; configuring email servers, schedule proper backups and logs mechanism.Job Responsibilities / Key Result Areas (KRAs) Setup, Installation, Monitoring & Support of Server -To plan installation of all windows servers and inform key stakeholders in case of downtime-To manage installation process and ensure standardization-To document the installation activity and configuration parameters To perform regular monitoring of all Windows Servers to ensure smooth running-To timely update antivirus and required security patches-To prepare change log for any modification made to the configuration Update installation documents when required-To create user Id on Windows server as per the standard procedure-To unlock ids, reset password etc on Windows server-To disable / delete user id as per the standard procedure when an employee resignation alert is sent-To maintain log of all user id maintenance activity-To maintain IT equipment with proper tagging Technology SolutionsStorage, Backup, Recovery & Support -To ensure backup and recovery policy are defined for all business critical server as per the business data recovery requirements-To add backup policy for any new critical machines / server that is installed-To modify backup policy of a machine / server when the business backup requirement for that machine changes-To ensure smooth scheduled backup jobs. In case of errors immediate actions are taken to resolve.-To restore backup for users / critical servers when required-To ensure backup is written to tapes and handed over to person responsible to move it to offsite. A log of tape handover / receiving should be made-To maintain a log of backup jobs and restore activities-Provide 1st Line support for all storage, backup and Windows Server. Ensure that problems are timely addressed as per the priority level and appropriate measures are taken to escalate the problem to vendor (if required) and follow-up until the problem is closedInfrastructure, Network & Firewall Management -Maintain Switches (Distribution / Core / Client), Fiber Backbone, Network Rack (Cat 6, Patch Panel) and storages like SAN, NAS etc.-Management of H/ W and S/ W Firewalls, Proxy, Authentication ServersJob Requirements (Qualifications/ Certifications/ Experience/ Skills etc.) -5+ Years of IT professional experience having 3 years in the similar capacity-BCS / BS / BE in Computer Engineering from reputable local or foreign university is essential-Certifications like Microsoft / Linux / Cisco / ITIL / IT Securities is desirable-Information Technology Infrastructure Library-IT Asset Management Skills-Support and Maintenance expertise especially managing data center & network-Experience managing desktop clients and other devices-Excellent communication Skills,
