Job Responsibilities - Own the creation and management of systems engineering activities - Support and drive development and service delivery in the Satellite access network - Understand details of underlying technology and product capabilities - Establish relationships and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to translate user needs into a complete description of system requirements that are aligned with product roadmaps - Develop system use cases and drive system architecture - Work in a collaborative team environment; accurately and fully describe user needs to the business and development teams Required Skills: - 5+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience, with a total of 12+ years of experience in communications technologies - CommunicationsNetworking system architecture and design experience Strong access network systems expertise - Ability to travel up to 10% - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. You will be required to communicate both verbally and in written form with remote international teams very frequently. - Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent technical background and experience Preferred Skills: - Masters with specialization in Networking and Access Technologies - Academic coursework in a number of the following areas: Digital Communications, Broadband Communications, Communication Theory Systems, Computer networks (TCPIP), NFVSDN - Experience with data services including knowledge of protocols such as Ethernet TCP UDP IP DOCSIS WIMAX DVB-S2X - Linux experience - Hands-on experience working with satellitebroadband access network products is a plus - Exposure to network sizing, measurement monitoring tools and analysis - Programming skills in CC++Python is a plus Additional requirements BABS or equivalent experience Viasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
