Job Description

You as a Test Engineer- Digital Solutions will be part of Hitachi ABB Power Grids business-based Chennai. As a Testing Engineer for the Digital solutions, you shall ensure that the test activities listed below, but not limited to, are performed at highest level of efficiency and quality, to the utmost satisfaction of customers. You shall have good knowledge and experience in Application of IEC61850 communication protocols and IoT Testing.

Your responsibilities
  • Configuring Test Environment - Test Environment is to be created with the components of MACH Control System in the Test Lab Facility, with Computers, Servers, Input - Output Boards and Simulation Environments.
  • Develop or Write Test procedures - Write Test Cases or Scenarios for verifying the functionalities of the MACH Control System for Analog and Digital Acquisitions ,System Software, Communication ,Station Control Monitoring etc.
  • Test Execution - Execution of Test Cases, for various software and hardware releases using the developed test cases in the test lab.
  • Test Reporting - Report the test execution details to the development team for further actions.
  • Maintains Test Environment - Maintain the test environment with updated software and hardware for current and future use.
Your background
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering in Electrical or Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in application of IEC61850 other communication protocols (OPC, OPC UA, OpenFMB, DNP3, Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, Zigbee or Fieldbus)
  • Hands on experience in testing of IEC61850 applications and IoT Testing
  • Experience in Testing cloud applications performance edge computing solution (edge gateway configuration, IoT gateway software)
  • Knowledge on IoT testing cloud application performance testing
  • Hands on Experience in IEC61850 international standard for communication protocol
  • Knowledge on Digital Substation architecture latest developments
  • Knowledge on Network Management system
  • Knowledge on Power monitoring management
  • Knowledge on Manual testing, Automation Testing would be plus
  • Knowledge in test case writing, test reporting and test execution would be plus
  • Proficiency in English, speaking and writing.
