A Technical Director for a specific production(s) is responsible for working closely with the scenic designer and director. It is their responsibility to determine how the scenery will be built and out of what materials. A TD will take a scenic designers artistic draftings and create technical draftings of themTechnical Directors provide leadership, direction, and management for technical teams. This includes hiring, training, and managing IT personnel, in addition to administering employee performance reviews. Technical Directors leverage their strong technical acumen to suggest new technologies, enhance existing technologies, and ensure IT services are properly maintained. Technical Directors serve as the subject matter expert for all other technical employeesExamples of Technical Director responsibilitiesProvide the sales team with technical advice and support Oversee each projects life cycle from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency Develop and revise statements of work, which should include accurate time and cost estimates Analyze user requirements and usability metrics to ensure customer satisfaction Apply architectural and functional specifications to each project Collaborate with our design team to create accurate and detailed mockups for customer approval Meet with clients to refine and evaluate requirements, strategy and content needs Enforce coding standards across all departments Research and introduce new technologies for all employees and management Assist in creating in-house standards
