Job Description

  • Work collaboratively with others across BIA, while developing strong yet independent client relationships.
  • Support delivery of BIA Audit Plan.
What will you be doing
  • Collaborate and support the Directors and Head of BIA FTT to design an appropriate coverage strategy and audit plan taking into consideration the current and expected business environment, the regulatory requirements and the resourcing levels within the Function. Continue to update awareness of risk issues and changes across relevant business units and use this knowledge to update audit approach where necessary;
  • Lead global FTT audits in Product Control, Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting as Audit Owner responsible for ultimate delivery of audits; Responsible for defining audit strategy with the help of BIA FTT team and execute audit work to ensure that relevant risks and controls have been identified and appropriately assessed. Manage audit teams on a day to day basis, working to ensure that audits progress as planned, as regards scope, budget and timetable;
  • Support an Audit Owner as a member of the audit team in other global FTT Audits in execution of audits;
  • Engage closely and own the relationship with key business stakeholders throughout the execution of audits;
  • Review and complete processes and documentation of scoping, risk & control identification, control evaluation and observations in BIA audit toolkit.;
  • Write high quality audit observations;
  • Update the Audit Owner and audit team with progress and observations;
  • Perform issues validation test procedures;
  • Promote a culture of efficiency through the use Agile and Automated Auditing techniques;
  • Provide complete, accurate and timely information for BIA reporting.
What we re looking for:
  • CA / CPA or similar accounting degree or MBA in Finance or relevant Finance postgraduate degree;
  • Relavant years of experience in a first line role managing a team in areas like Product Control, Treasury or Regulatory reporting or in delivering audits of financial processes in those areas experience in Investment Banking financial products and sound understanding of the relevant risks is key criteria;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to senior technical specialists and senior non-technical individuals;
  • Specific practical experience in regulatory environments in large PREs in areas like Product Control, Stress Testing, Liquidity and Capital Management, Regulatory Reporting etc.
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Strong risk and control understanding of investment bank products and operations
  • Financial services experience in Product Control
  • Knowledge about new and emerging financial products and services
  • Proven track record of senior stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to deliver timely high quality analytical work in a relatively unsupervised environment
  • Displays willingness and initiative to learn and share knowledge
