Roles and Responsibilities1) To receive the patient in the ward. To visit every patient and enquire about his or her needs before 10-noon every day. To co-ordinate with other departments in attending to the patients needs. To keep the ambience neat and tidy. To inform the concerned doctors regarding new admission. To carry out doctors instructions.2) To raise requisition in the computer for different investigations required for the patient. To raise requisition slips for various investigations in Radiology, Pathology, Blood Bank and arrange for dispatch of the same to the concerned departments. To collect the investigation reports3) To arrange for transport to send the patient for different investigations. To answer the queries of patients attenders and visitors. To update the billing cards daily and to send the updated billing cards to the billing department, one day prior to the proposed discharge of the patient.4) To explain the discharge procedures to the patients and follow up with the doctors for discharge summary. To check the discharge intimation slips to ensure that the patients bill is settled and then instruct the allocated nurse to discharge the patient. To co-ordinate with Emergency Department, if the patient needs ambulance for transportation.To collect the feedback forms from the patient and forward the same to the Patient care executive. To attend the phone calls.5)Maintaining the case files of the patient neatly with all the necessary case papers, investigation reports, billing card, etc. To update the days work in the secretarys logbook. To collect /dispatch green folder from / to the medical records. To inform housekeeping department, Security, dietary department and admission counter after the discharge of the patient.To ensure that the double occupancy is allowed only after Admission counter gives the clearance after authorization by the HOD. To update all registers in the ward.6) To obtain billing clearance (office permission) before the patient goes for surgery. To forward the papers to credit cell incase of TPA/ Corporate cell. To coordinate for Patient Transfer in / out. Intimate to attenders about outstanding of the bills. To check the visitors policy is followed. To maintain Discharge tracking sheet. To receive the attenders / Visitors pass during discharge.7)To update the billing status to the patients on daily basis and obtain signature for high due patients. To identify the background of each patient and keep HOD informed of any VIP admission/visit. Night Duty:To have a follow-up on VIP patients. To attend and co-ordinate the Code Blue patients from wards. In case of death in Emergency/ICCU/Wards, to follow the protocols as per the policy of the hospital. To update the billing card and send the same to the billing department in case of urgent discharge/DORB. To inform the concerned department/person if a VIP is admitted.8) To call up Head of the Department in the morning and give the feedback, if any, and also write in the handover book. To prepare a list of vacant beds, critical units beds and total number of discharges for the following day and submit the same to the HOD. To ensure smooth functioning of all the wards. To raise requisitions required for patients in the wards.To attend and co-ordinate for any emergency procedures in the OT/Cath Lab.Desired Candidate ProfileGraduate / Post graduate ( preferably in Hospital Administration)1-2 years experience in patient care areas,
