Associate Software EngineerPosting Location : Location US-NC-RemotePosting date 1 day ago(7/25/2022 2:58 AM)Job ID 95799 Workday ID R-025637 About the job The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Associate Software Engineer to join the cloud.redhat.com Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will work as a member of a team focused around amplifying and accelerating the ability of developers to quickly develop and deploy Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications to the cloud.redhat.com platform. The cloud.redhat.com Platform Engineering team is responsible for building the platform and services that host all applications running at cloud.redhat.com. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do
• Define, implement, and deliver automated tools and solutions that maximize developer joy and productivity
• Continuously improve the process of software delivery, from scoping to deployment, while maintaining a sustainable pace
• Design and build tools and systems that automate operational tasks
• Build and deliver tooling that allows developers to easily monitor site availability, reliability, and performance and troubleshoot issues with their live Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications
What you will bring
• Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline
• 5+ years of experience working in software development and engineering
• Proficiency in Python development; 2+ years of experience developing with Python
• Experience with agile and comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
• Comfortable building software deployed as containers
• Experience with a public cloud provider like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Compute Platform (GCP)
• Experience building and operating continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or TravisCI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus:
• Experience developing with front-end development frameworks like React and Node.js
• Experience working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment
• Comfortable using logging and monitoring tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, and NewRelic
• Developing, deploying, and operating microservices
• Experience with production container orchestration system like Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS)
• Experience with open source software
