The Role As a Production Support Engineer you will be part of a growing infrastructure team who are working collaboratively on supporting our enterprise software development environment, as well as our office infrastructure and our client data warehouse environments. Functional: Responsible for assisting with installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of hardware, systems, software and related infrastructure. Assist to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to organisation policies and liaise with staff for technical issues, creating user accounts, as well as maintaining backups, testing and rolling out solutions.Operations and Support: Create, change and delete user accounts as per request. Ensure backup procedures are successful and verify integrity. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary. Provide support per request from staff. Investigate and troubleshoot basic issues. Take part in the design and implementation of new solutions and services. Configuring new and existing Servers according to agreed policies, security standards and architectural designs - including software installations, network settings, firewalls, user accounts & permissions etc. Provide support on request to restore, copy, clone and set up of databases, file copies, SOLR shared and index copies SOLR set up, configuration and administration Notifying all stakeholders of any server related issues that will impact on other business areas (e.g. software updates, hardware changes, server downtimes etc). Liaising with hosting provider on all server-related issues. Ensuring all system architecture documentation is maintained and up to date. In-house and AWS data centres admin and management.Run & Maintain Builds: Responsible for remotely starting and monitoring defined run list scripts for success/failure, fixing simple issues, and reporting back on the build processes. Downloading all new and updated data sources when available. Fix basic issues of failure and restart build. Report back on build process to the Build Team daily or on request. Ensure disk space is sufficient to complete given tasks. Required Skills Fluent English ability is required in this role as you will be supporting a team based in the UK as well as our clients hosted data solutions and applications. To be successful, you ll have strong technical abilities, be a great communicator and be able to self-organise and achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Windows Desktop Operating Systems (windows 7 and above). Experience with Windows ServerOperating Systems (windows server 2008 and above). Experience with SQL Server - administration of databases, backups and basic SQL query language. Understanding of different hardware concepts e.g. RAID. Proactively look into issues and suggest improvements that can be implemented to mitigate future occurrences and risks. Be able to communicate in a clear manner to other team members. Experience of Linux to at least a basic level. Experience of managing AWS. Confident in creating and using CMD & PowerShell Scripts (beneficial). Knowledge of PostgreSQL (beneficial). Experience managing a data centre / hosted enterprise environment(beneficial). Experience with complex server builds and system architecture (beneficial).,
