Industrial Quality EngineerAbout Alstom in IndiaAlstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Today, Alstom in India employs close to 3600 people and in line with Government of India s Make in India policy initiative, Alstom has been investing heavily in the country in producing world class rolling stock, components, design, research and development to not only serve the domestic market, but also rest of the world.www.alstom.com/ India Purpose of the job:The Industrial Quality Engineer, Technician is in charge to ensure the compliance of products and parts delivered by the ALSTOM facilities. He/ She performs inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures according to the applicable instructions on products ready for delivery and on products during their manufacturing process. • Strong links with Industrialization & Supply Chain teams on Rolling Stock & Component sites, Sourcing, EPU, PrQSM, PrIM, APSYS, PME.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:Accountabilities & Authorities:Perform inspections of subassemblies or finished ALSTOM products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements. Contributes into site improvement actions and programs related to the IQ scope.

• Accepts or Reject products as defined in the working instructions.
• Accurately document NCR and results of the inspections and testing, so as to launch the expected reaction on supplier side and Alstom teams (QRQC, Quality wall, ).
• Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Control the correct calibration of critical equipment and instrumentation used in the inspections.
• Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
• Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action.
• Works with industrial teams to alert on risks of missing parts due to defects
• Records inspection results in the industrial tools as required.
• Reports to the Industrial Quality Managers the synthesis of inspection results, including KPIs .Stop the production in case of a defect which justifies mandatory rework.
• Escalade the anomalies detected on the production lines & ensure their effective treatment (QRQC tool).
• Support manufacturing teams regarding the self-inspection.
• Ensure quality animation methodology, in line with APSYS requirements

Educational RequirementsMandatory:

• Technical background enabling the understanding of critical characteristics of the products (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical ) or equivalent
• Experience in managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required include:Degree in Engineering / B.Tech (Electrical / Electronics).

• Experience (6 to 8 years) in Quality Assurance / Quality Control, rail way industry experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management System.
• Experience in raising Non-conformance reports (NCR) and managing Non-conforming products.
• Knowledgeable of PFMEA, Control Plans

Desirable:

• Knowledge of railway industry (norms, certifications ) would be an asset

ExperienceMandatory:

• Awareness on Processes and Products delivered in the project,
• Fluent in English

Desirable:

• Experience in Quality / audit are appreciated
