The WWF is run at a local level by the following offices. Senior Communication Officer (Coimbatore)WWF- India , one of the largest conservation organizations , engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country , invites applications from self- motivated and dynamic individual with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature to join us as Senior Communications Officer at our Coimbatore office. The incumbent will be part of the River Basins and Water Policy team at WWF- India and will support our Water Stewardship program in the Western Ghats Deccan Peninsula that aims to conserve water for the people and nature in the region. Location: Coimbatore The Job Profile: Duties and responsibilities: Develop and support implementation of effective communications , outreach and advocacy strategies that supports objectives of River , Wetlands and Water policy projects in Western Ghats and Deccan peninsula. Develop content and collateral , suitable for a range of audiences including social media , website , brochures , newsletters and press releases , across a range of different water related themes. Write regular articles on the programme activities. Maintain build local media relations. Support the team in the execution of events and campaign activities. Qualifications , Experience and Competencies required: Master s degree in mass communications , journalism , public relations. 3- 4 years experience in a similar role. Ability to write content for various channels including case studies , feature stories etc. and creatively package and reposition content in a timely manner for various stakeholders. Knowledge of working with design software would be an advantage (Corel draw/ Adobe Illustrator/ Indesign , Adobe Photoshop). Desired Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English and Tamil Proactive and self- motivated with the ability to identify communication opportunities and take initiative to plan campaign activities. Ability to deliver within tight deadlines. Excellent inter- personal skills and ability to identify and support communication needs of the team.
