The assistant professor math responsibilities can be covered under the following heads that describe the various aspects of this job:Development of instructional modules and curriculum: An assistant math professor participates in the designing and development of instructional modules and the curriculum according to the classroom requirements. They suggest measures to update and improve the existing curriculum.Conduct scheduled lectures: Assistant professor of math conducts the lectures assigned to him/her and may serve as a replacement in the absence of the main faculty.Supervise student activities: Assistant professor of math has to keep a track of the student activities and provide periodic reports on the performance and progress of students.Grading assignments and yearly performance: Assistant professor of math grades the various assignments of the students and presents compiled reports to the senior authorities or to the parents.Participate in seminars and conference: An assistant professor of math participates in the various seminars and conferences held either in the institutes premises or in other institutes.Apart from the responsibilities stated above, an assistant professor of math can be asked to serve the placement cell of the institute. This individual must motivate the students to perform better and also counsel them if they chose to prepare a thesis or pursue further education in math.Skills of an Assistant Professor MathHaving knowledge of various areas of math is mandatory, yet it is not enough to work in this position. You need to have excellent teaching skills with an ability to coordinate with the faculties and students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
