    POSITION VACANT: Chief Executive Officer, CanKids.KidsCan - The National Society for Change for Childhood Cancer in India LOCATION: Delhi ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND CanKids KidsCan - The National Society for Change for Childhood Cancer in India, is a National NGO working across the entire spectrum of Childhood Cancer Care. Through our signature program YANA -You are Not Alone - we provide holistic support to a child with cancer and the family, from the moment of detection, through diagnosis, treatment and after.We work in partnership with 106 Cancer centres in 47 cities and 23 States of India. In addition, we also run 10 Home Away from Homes - a low-cost model where the children with cancer and their families can stay while they are undergoing treatment: a one of its kind Special School for Children with Cancer in Mumbai, Canshala - in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) and the only 10 bedded Pediatric Palliative Care Center in Delhi. We are in an exciting phase of increasing our footprints and outreach through our access to care model as part of the Change for Childhood Cancer project within the states and have partnerships with the Government of Maharashtra, Punjab, and West Bengal.CanKids was set up in January 2004 under the umbrella of Indian Cancer Society, Delhi Branch with the vision of Enable global standards of survival, between 70-95%, for childhood cancer in India and ensure that no child should suffer for want of cancer treatment due to lack of finance. In June 2012, we spun off and registered as an independent National Society. CanKids is registered under the Indian Societies Act 1951, as a not-for-profit charitable organization, with valid 12A and 80G certificates and are qualified for CSR funding. JOB DESCRIPTION The Chief Executive Officer will report to the Chairman and to the Board of Governance and will lead a passionate and talented team of around more than 20 people across all the offices, have about 11 as direct repartees. He/she will drive the organizational vision, operational strategy, hiring needs and shall complement the Chairman in advancing the mission of the organization, with a focus on strengthening program delivery and ensuring effective implementation. He / She is expected to provide oversight, take full ownership, responsibility, and accountability towards delivering and ensuring implementing CanKids strategy, annual plans and CCC State project (access to care) model across the country. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Chief Executive Officer will: Provide Leadership and Development Support to the team members- Provide guidance, mentorship, and effective knowledge management to ensure efficient implementation - Strive to create a culture of mission-focus, results orientation, ownership, accountability and collaboration among the employees and volunteers- Proactively lead change within a complex work environment. - Develop and empower a learning culture that addresses challenges and solves problems- Ensure a balance between competing needs and priorities- Develop and enhance the skill levels of the staff for current and new rolesDrive the Vision and Operational Strategy - Establish a clear purpose and sense of momentum toward the vision of the organization- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth - Oversee organizational operations and employee productivity, building an inclusive and collaborative culture - Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.- Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement- Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed- Encourage documentation of best practices and introduce process improvements- Ensuring adherence to required statutory and legal compliances- Overseeing budget preparation and utilization.Lead Quality Implementation of CanKids Programs - Translate program strategy into actionable goals for on-ground implementation to meet agreed organizational performance plans within budgets and timelines- Create planning and monitoring process to keep track on the progress and to ensure program teams work as per planned schedule, achieve the goals and coordinate with other departments efficiently- Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program areas, focusing on systems and process improvement based on analysis of data generated from all departments.- Ensuring adherence to the timelines and delivering as per the mission of the organization- Maintaining a strong communication interface with the relevant departments on program updates, challenges, success, and fund utilization- Bringing uniformity across program locations in terms of implementation and operational excellence. - Use of technology to make the implementation process IT driven. - Ensure effective coordination among different departments with respect to program requirements and timely deliverables.Assist and Support the Board of Governance on Strategic Priorities- Participate in the strategy development and planning process and ensure the execution across the organization- Support the board in fostering strategic partnerships with key stakeholders- Support in developing the resource mobilization strategy, growth strategy and sustainability plan for the organization - Identify new avenues/ sources of funding opportunities- Assist in developing partnerships, collaborations and networking with donors and stakeholders- Overall responsibility for the functioning of the organization including all departments- Undertake any other priority work as assigned by the board QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS - Applicants should have a postgraduate degree in the Social Sciences and/or other relevant discipline.- Total work experience of 20 + years with minimum of 5 - 7 years in a senior strategic role or management position- Knowledge and experience in delivering complex programs within a government context- Proficient in program management and project execution - Strong planning, budgeting & financial management skills- Adept in planning, reporting and operations- Ability to see through complex data, having experience in monitoring & evaluation and measuring the program impact- Openness to technological change, with prior exposure to implementing technology-based solutions for operations- Fluency in spoken English and writing skills- Excellent interpersonal, relational and communication skills, with a history of inspiring- collaboration across various functions- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Comfort and willingness to travel extensively to remote locations COMPETENCIES - Self -motivated individual with proven experience in leading others to deliver- Strong implementation focus, can-do attitude, and ability to rapidly adapt- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively- Exhibit the highest standards of honesty and integrity -
