Cloud Architect - Custom/Cloud Native Applications

Job Description

• A minimum of 12-14 years experience in software development using a combination of Oracle products and open source tooling to deliver both on premise and cloud applications
• Deep architectural experience in designing solution and technical architectures that deliver expected business benefits and prove to be resilient in the face of changing business requirements.
• Experience architecting, building, and maintaining Cloud applications on cloud platforms e.g., Oracle Cloud , Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
• Clear success stories of being involved in engagements where monolithic applications were migrated to microservices or where a greenfield microservices development was involved.
• Understands how to containerize applications and manage the resulting infrastructure lifecyle and is experienced in the use of relevant technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes etc.
• Fluent in CI/CD tooling and automation capabilities
• Experience with Agile and SCRUM-based projects or working with rapid and iterative technical design/implementation projects
• Hands on expertise in some of the core Oracle Technology products is required e.g. WebLogic, Oracle Database etc.
• Exposure to Infrastructure Automation Tools Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, Puppet, etc (Infrastructure As Code) to automate environment deployment is a definite advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript frameworks - NodeJS, and/or AngularJS, and/or React, etc. Knowledge of Oracle Visual Builder or Oracle JET is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in developing using REST-style web services / APIs is required.
• Understand software development at a fundamental level, use the best tools for the job, and always think about the future (at scale) when architecting solutions
• Experience building modern streaming architectures leveraging technologies such as: Kafka, Docker, Elasticsearch etc is a definite advantage.
• Development expertise in one or more software languages, such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++ or similar.
• Experience in using application integration technologies such as API gateways etc would be an advantage
