Job Description

About the role:

  • This position requires a candidate with strong knowledge and experience in Human Factors and Industrial Design.
  • We are looking for an Industrial designer with experience in Human Factors who would be able to understand the anthropometric challenges while designing products, as well be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, surveys, create test methods to carry out different ergonomic and biomechanical analysis. The designer is also expected have knowledge about human factors and human physiology to effectively identify problems associated with work related stress.
  • The job requires a self-motivated individual with hands on skills and experience on strong insights and Innovation processes like Bio Design, Ethnography tools, Human Factors, Usability studies and Brainstorming tools. Ability to explore different data capturing modalities to gather detailed anthropometric and physiological measurements, and effectively analyze it to drive the design of end products.
  • The individual should be a team player who is willing to collaborate and work in cross functional teams across geographies and cultures. The candidate should be well versed with overall R&D, Quality, and Regulatory processes for medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HFID projects including development of study plans and feasibility.
  • Participate and support in data collection for Biomechanics
  • Implement BSC global PLCP process with required SOP s suitable for regional / emerging market projects.
  • Lead projects to integrate HFID into ongoing projects by considering customer insights (voice of customer, voice of business, voice of regulatory, voice of technology)
  • Voice of Business - Work closely with regional, in country and upstream marketing to align the needs-based opportunities with business strategy.
  • Voice of Customer - Develop customer insights processes and tools like Biodesign, Ethnography, contextual innovation and implement the same to develop a portfolio of prioritized customer needs; with focus on all stakeholders (5P s Patient, physician, payer, provider and policy makers)
  • Develop and deliver Innovative products and solutions to meet the customer and business needs. Ensure that the Voice of Value is captured in the potential solutions.
  • Test proof of concept prototypes with customers testing in simulated environments
  • Responsible for working closely with several cross functional colleagues marketing, clinical, regulatory, pre-clinical and global R&D.

Experience and Qualification:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering with Master s in Design (IITs/NID preferred) with 4+ years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data/statistics
  • Assessing the design of products/systems via practical experiments and Test methods
  • Working knowledge of IEC 62366 and HE 75 Guidelines.
  • Undertaking risk assessments within the workplace
  • Test proof of concept prototypes with customers testing in simulated environments
  • Responsible for working closely with several cross functional colleagues marketing, clinical, regulatory, pre-clinical and global R&D.
  • Proficient in Rhino/Solidworks.
  • Sketching skills and work flow mapping essential.
