Job Description

The Mechanical Engineering team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals, business unit of Bechtel Global. There is a vacancy in Gurugram office for professional with OGC experience as Mechanical Static (Columns and their Internals/Pressures Vessels/Heat Exchangers/Air Cooled HEx/Filters/Tanks/Static Packages) Engineer, qualified to degree level. A minimum of Three years industrial experience is required for this position. Candidate should have worked in project teams carrying out detailed engineering for execution of FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for Indian / International projects. The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Commodity Lead / Group Lead and duties will include the following: Plan and conduct independent work Review for completeness and consistency of Process and Mechanical related data. Develop technical specifications for Equipment/Package. Review of specifications from Licensor / Client / PMC. Review of other Engineering discipline documents for completeness. Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Bidders/Vendors.

  • Design, preparation of MDS/Engineering drawings, MRQs. Review of Quotes, analyzing deviations, raising of TQs, TBEs, MRPs.
Review of VPs. Execute work on workshare mode. Support project/proposal activities. Participating in Value Engineering, design and cost optimization. Part of reviews - on projects, including for technical and constructability reviews. Interfacing / IDC with other departments for Mechanical commodities. Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt.
  • Execute work with sound engineering practices leading to safe designs for all phases of project/plant execution/operation, of desired quality within schedule and cost.
  • Part of process for resolving Vendor/Site queries. Interaction with Inspection Agencies, Expeditors, other agencies for delivery of Equipment/Packages.
Providing Inputs for Progress reporting. Supporting the project through construction and commissioning phases. Travel to support activities at other engineering offices, supplier s works, construction sites Engineering for working on EPC/EPCM, FEED and other modes of project execution Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:
  • Detail engineering for Static Equipment and related packages for Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical Process Units, Off-site and Utilities
Knowledge on Thermal design using HTRI Understand various types of materials to be used
  • Knowledge of Design using ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and Div. 2, TEMA and other supporting sections of ASME
  • Knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards like ASME, TEMA, ANSI, API, BS, BIS, Licensor Client specifications, OISD
Hands-on experience on industry software: Compress, PVElite, BJAC Experience in HTRI shall be an added advantage Familiarity with model reviews and use of SPR is desirable Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects Education required (minimum): Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university Other responsibilities
