    Position Name Transmission Design and Development Engineer Position level L5 DEM position name Transmission Design and Development Manager/ Head Transmission platform DEM position level L4/L3 FEM position name NA FEM position level NA Purpose of the position a.Why the positions exists b.What will happen if there is no one in the position (no one performs the work) a.To carry out the design and development of new generation aggregates suitable for Electric Vehicles. This position needs to be created because of changing transmission requirements for e-transmissions which calls for additional skill sets. b.Timely delivery of Transmission aggregates required for electric vehicles will get severely affected. Tech.,( Mechanical / Automobile) Technical competencies 1. Hands on experience of gear design (helical planetary, bevel) 2.Good knowledge of simulation tools. 3.Good knowledge of aggregate interfacing requirements. 4.Experience in casing, beam design. 5.Design considerations for bearings, seals and lubrication. 6.Hands on experience on PLM system. Good knowledge of Transmission (Clutch/Drive Axle/Gearbox/Transfer-case) aggregates. 2. Knowledge of Major component manufacturing Processes like Machining, Casting, Forging, Forming, and Welding. 3. Knowledge of Major Gear Manufacturing processes like Hobbing, Shaping, Shaving, Grinding, and Honing. 4.Knowledge of Manufacturing processes employed for Transmission parts and sub systems like Detents, Interlocks, Synchro cone Packs, Clutch Actuation and Control 5. Knowledge of GD & T & Tolerance Stack up. 6. Knowledge of failure investigation tools, preparing DFMEA and deriving sound validation plans. 7. Knowledge of Processes like DFM / DFA / DFS and Design for Cost and Reliability. 8. Knowledge of DVA, PDCA Process. 9. Experience of working in CFTs for cost reduction, warranty reduction, quality improvement and preliminary costing. 10. Experience in designing Transmission components using CAD tools (ProE). 11. Exposure to Automatic and Automated Manual Transmission systems and calibration. 12. Experience in Engineering BOM preparation and releases through PLM systems. 13. Working knowledge of driveline simulation software like Romax, Kiss-soft, and MatLab/Simulink/Etas/INCA. Key Responsibilities: S.N. Key Responsibility & Key Tasks Measures 1Design calculations for gears, bearings, shafts and other mechanical components used in Gearbox, Drive axle and Clutch systems. Error free and timely design releases as per project gateways 2Design (3D & 2D) of driveline related components/sub-systems/systems using CAD tools (ProE) considering functional, manufacturing, serviceability aspects etc. AR/DR Milestone completion as per Project timeline 3Preparation of Digital Mock-up (3D) of driveline aggregate assembly. No of DMU issues resolved before AR1 release. 4Preparation and release of BOM (bill of material). BOM Quality 5Generating Cost Reduction proposals using various levers. As per Cascaded Target from BSC. 6Participation in execution of DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DFS etc., activity for driveline and driveline components. Timely TRSO Closure 7Modelling and simulating various Transmission sub-systems using MatLab/ Simulink etc. No of Models 8Calibration for transmission automation. Calibration Maturation as per Project Timeline 9Generating Innovative proposals / concepts in the area of Transmission Aggregates. No of IPRs / Copyright 10Technical Documentation based on various processes and systems like IATF 16949 and WCQ requirements.
