Job Description

WHAT YOULL DO

Under the general supervision of local senior management and the Database Platform Engineering Manager in the Platform Engineering and Operations Team, you will be working with key customers on internal and client facing Application Teams to provide support for Run the Business (RtB) activities, ensuring availability and performance SLAs are met. For Change the Business (CtB) activities you will be expected to provide guidance on proper database design, ensure that our standards are enforced, and the proper support model is in place for production deployments.

You are good at designing and building relational data models; analysing performance bottlenecks and providing both database and SQL tuning recommendations; you have a passion for customer service and a desire learn and grow as a professional and a technologist.

  • Viewed as subject matter expert to stakeholders; possessing in - depth knowledge and specialized technical skill set
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Individually execute and deliver on day - to - day activities
  • Proactively identify and independently solve non - routine problems by ing expertise
  • Perform research of viable technical and/or non - technical solutions
  • Evaluating new technology and systems that could be used to fulfill business needs
  • Share knowledge with the Team
  • Leverage internal networks in role and viewed by stakeholders as skilled specialist
  • Architect, design, and implement changes to databases as required
  • Perform system analysis on databases, resolve server performance, poor performing queries, capacity issues, backup and recovery issues and data integration issues as necessary
  • Develop and maintain database standards and naming conventions.
  • Perform database installs, upgrades and patches

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

You bring to us experience in Oracle database and data integration technologies; both in self - managed data centres and the Cloud (AWS and/or Azure). We desire to build a team of heterogeneous database Engineers and welcome experience is MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Experience in administering Oracle Applications (e - Business Suite) is a plus.

  • Experience in Amazon Web Services data platform offerings
  • Experience in MS Azure data platform offerings
  • Expertise in relational database design and data security
  • Oracle Database technology (versions 11g, 12c, 18c, and 19c)
  • Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
  • Oracle GoldenGate technology
  • Strong Powershell/ shell scripting skills
  • Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) experience a plus
  • Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) 12.1.3 and above a plus
  • Oracle Application Express (APEX) a plus
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2012 and above) a plus
  • Integration, Analysis, and Reporting Services a plus
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL,and/or MongoDB experience a plus
