Mechanical Drafting and Mechanical Drafting CAD/CADD. Definition: A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to develop working drawings and electronic simulations in support of mechanical and industrial engineers, and related professionals.Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. 2) Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.This position is responsible for collaborating with project engineers, designers, drafters and office manager to develop mechanical designs from concept through detailed drawings.Key Objectives:1.Leadership:Take a step back and look at all the alternatives thought process.Make decisions wisely by balancing all viewpoints.Keep in touch with corporate strategies, and recommend ways to improve or alter them.2.Understand and help to develop company design standards whether written or within the historical custom.3.Detail drawings in both AutoCad and Inventor that meet or exceed the clients needs, budgets and expectations. 4.Update and modify drawings in both AutoCad and Inventor. 5.Communicate closely with the office manager to determine workload, availability.6.Communicate closely with all members of the project team to identify individual responsibilities, project goals and to further your understanding of mechanical designs.7.All information is to be clearly presented to both members of the project team and clients in written, oral or drawing format.8.Use precise, concise and unambiguous communication.9.Share applicable technical knowledge to improve all I/O Design & Engineering projects and further the knowledge and understanding of mechanical design within the company.10.Identify areas where increased training or knowledge would benefit or compliment your expertise and determine a method for gaining this knowledge. 11.Contribute to a positive and collaborative office atmosphere through shared: respect, reflection and philosophy.
