Presales Specialist - Storage, Platforms & Services (SPS)Our field sales professionals rely on technical support during the sales process and our Systems Engineering team always steps up to the mark. We lead the development and implementation of sophisticated and specialized products, applications, services and solutions. From delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations, to developing detailed installation or system integration plans, we ensure customers get the innovative, relevant, interoperable solutions they need.Join us as a Systems Engineer on our Sales Engineering team in Delhi to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.What you ll achieveAs a Systems Engineer, you will provide pre-sales technical support to our field sales teams, helping to define the overall Dell Technologies solution for our customers using the full range of company products and services.You will:

  • Be a proactive, enthusiastic, and capable professional who is a compelling communicator with a history of working with customers, creating successful and complex solutions in the IT/Storage infrastructure spaces based on customer requirements. It is essential to stay current in the latest relevant IT technologies and IT trends to maintain competitive knowledge and give inputs to future product directions.
  • You will take on the responsibility of assisting Core presales specialists in working with customers across APJ for technical design and evaluation of our infrastructure solutions, including all flash storage arrays, converged/hyper-converged infrastructure and software defined storage in strategically and tactically significant applications and use cases, including private cloud, server virtualization, databases, analytics, and high-performance computing.
  • As a key member of the Storage, Platforms & Solutions (SPS) technical team, you will be expected to provide deep storage expertise to support technical sales activities, help with long term roadmap discussions, onsite/custom proofs of concepts, assist with massive deals requiring extra attention through assistance with RFPs, competitive bids, complex solution/replication designs, and educate and influence internal staff, customers, and the partner community.
  • You will help present the latest technology and products to customers, work closely with engineering, as well as the CTO, product management and marketing team, help develop technical collateral including best practices, solution whitepapers and reference architectures for many important IT applications such as Server Virtualization (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft etc.), VDI (VMware, Citrix etc.), Databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server etc.), SAP, HPC etc.
  • You will research and communicate technology, industry and market trends and mentor customers on their application. In addition, it is essential for you to understand and stay updated on storage solution offerings from our key competitors including Hitachi, HPE, NetApp, Pure & IBM and you will interact with partners to help educate and enable them around the technical and business value propositions of our technology offerings, whilst maintaining a high level of competitive expertise in the fastest growing segment of the storage industry today! You will also work with 3rd party Technology Alliance partners to communicate our technical value proposition.

  • Approx. 16 years of equivalent experience in Specialty presales/technical sales and/or complex IT solution development and demonstrated presales/technical sales track record, preferably as a deep technical specialist
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the enterprise IT infrastructure and storage space is required, along with a broad understanding of the enterprise infrastructure solutions. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with server virtualization (Hypervisors) such as VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following: enterprise databases, private cloud, high performance computing, virtual desktop solutions. An eagerness to assist the field, engage confidently with customers and compete aggressively in the marketplace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills mandatory. Hands-on lab and proof of concept experience a big plus. Willingness to be flexible in a rapidly growing entrepreneurial, dynamic start up environment
  • Experience with Dell EMC Storage solutions like Unity, PowerStore, VMAX, PowerMax, XtremIO, VNX, Compellent / SC Series, PowerFlex/VxFlex/ScaleIO, VPLEX, VxRail, VxRack, vSAN etc.
  • Education: MS or BS in CS, CE, EE or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge or certification in ITIL, TOGAF or similar qualifications desirable. Some domestic and occasional international travel required
