Job Description

    This position is responsible for product planning and its overall strategy, roadmap, sales forecasting inventory accountability, and marketing of the assigned product category at all stages of the product lifecycle. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Market Intelligence To tracke global / local trends, analyzing product innovations requirement in respect of competition and market for the assigned product category. To Identify product gaps vis- -vis market analysis and existing product portfolio to create new product strategy in close coordination with sales and product development team. To gather insights on the performance of existing and newly launched product in the market and making necessary changes in the strategy for product positioning and sales. Consumer Insights To gain deep understanding of customer needs (both primary and secondary customers) and market dynamics for assigned product category. To analyze market trends, consumer behavior and competition analysis for the assigned. product category for every assigned market. To create compelling product propositions on the basis of market trend, consumer trend and competition analysis in close coordination with product development team. To maintain deep understanding of teaching pedagogy and requirements (current or future) through interactions with teachers and parents. Product Planning Responsible for setting a product vision and strategy, and devising the roadmap to achieve the strategic goals and initiatives behind the product category. To define strategy for new product development, budget, and revenue forecast in line with the business plan. Firming up the product development plan with respect to the product mix, market requirement, emerging trends and organization s goals in close coordination with sales and product development team. To work closely with sales team in achieving the assigned target and profitability for the assigned product category. To review the product performance closely and ascertaining the various contributing factors such as: price, quality, market trend, etc. To create well differentiated USP s for the assigned product category to ensure proper positioning of the product in various market. Product Pricing and Profitability To track the pricing of competitor s products for the assigned product category vis- - vis pricing of our product. To suggest appropriate strategy for the relevant price positioning keeping in mind the competition, our value proposition, sales growth and overall profitability. To keep a track of budgeted profitability vis- -vis on-going sales performance for the assigned product category. Inventory Management To track inventory and doing stock ageing analysis for the assigned product category. Firming up the action plan to reduce the inventory in the close coordination with sales and supply chain team. Product training and workshops To conduct product trainings to increase product awareness of both existing and new products for internal customers on periodic basis. To articulate the USPs of the assigned product category and ensuring the dissemination of the same within sales team. To track the effectiveness of product trainings / workshops and identifying the area of improvement, both for internal and external customers,
