Senior Research Investigator-Immunology

Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding scientist with a strong background in immunology/ immuno- immunology to join our biology team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cellular immunology and/or immuno-oncology with extensive laboratory experience with the cell culture, phenotyping of immune cells based on surface and intracellular markers and functional characterization of human and mouse T cells, B cells, NK cells and other immune cell subsets in the context of Immuno-Oncology.Key Responsibilities:

• Strong experience in immune cell (human and/or mouse) phenotyping, cell-based assay development for T cell, B cell, NK cells, Macrophage and other Immune cells.
• Hands on experience with Immune and tumour cell co-culture studies, functional assays, cell death analysis.
• Experience at multicolor Flow cytometry based immune cell identification, Data analysis by flowjo, Immune cell isolation by FACS-sorting (FACS ARIA, Beckman Coulter etc).
• Cell proliferation assays, Cytokine quantification (secreted and intracellular cytokines), cell cycle analysis, cell death analysis.
• Experience at Transfection and /or Transduction of human T and/or B cells.
• Experience at culturing and expansion of human T cells.
• Isolation of TILs and their ex vivo phenotypic and functional characterization will be an advantage
• Excellent data compilation skills, documentation and communication of compiled data
• Interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
• Excellent leadership and management skill is necessary to mentor and develop junior members in the group.
• A record of accomplishment, as demonstrated by publications is required.
• General ability to thrive in a growing infrastructure and culture and critical thinking when troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Ability to build a small team and manage the daily activities of the immuno-oncology assay group.
• Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices
• Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety.
• Ensure environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures are imparted via training and adhered within the team

Educational Qualification: PhD in Immunology or Cancer Immunology or Biomedical sciencesTechnical/functional Skills:

• Candidates must have experience with FACS based isolation of T and/or B cells and other immune cells, their functional characterization in the context of Immuno-oncology,
• Broad experience with immunoassays for lymphocyte analysis including co-culture studies and functional characterization for cell proliferation, cytokine release (secreted and intracellular), apoptosis, qPCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA demonstrated by scientific publications in peer reviewed journals is essential.
• Tumour cell killing assessment by ADCC, CDC, ADCP etc in the context Immuno-Oncology is desirable.
• Experience with the isolation and characterization of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes.
• Experience with in vivo tumor mouse models.
• Previous experience evaluating therapeutic drug candidates, preferably large molecules, in an oncology/Immuno-Oncology setting is a plus.
• Experience with CAR T cells/ CAR NK cells handling in the context of Immuno-Oncology is desirable, but not essential.
• Advanced computer proficiency including the use of spreadsheet and word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, GRAPH PAD
