Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Web API developers and individually contribute to delivery high quality student experience
Collaborate with product management to define, design, and build new student-facing activity (game-like) features.
Work closely with designers and other engineers to implement the XSEED learning experience on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Tackle some of the most challenging problems with high-performance interaction, connected-system integration, and more.
Write quality, maintainable code with extensive test coverage in a fast-paced environment.
Build rapid product prototype based on requirements and iterative design process
Develop and lead engineering team to deliver high quality product releases
Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
Conduct design and code reviews
Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Experience with server-side languages and MVC frameworks - Ruby on Rails, PHP, node.js etc.
Advance experience (3+ years) with Javascript (server-side JS experience with node.js a plus)
Working knowledge of modern JS frameworks - Angular, Backbone, CreateJS, etc.
HTMLCSS with heavy DOM manipulation experience (JQuery, etc.)
Experience with SQL andor document databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
Object Oriented programming experience with knowledge of design patterns.
Experience with git, cloud deployment (AWS, Rackspace, etc.)
Ability to convert business challenges goals into technical solutions
Working in large code bases, and engineering features for high-performance interactivity, maintainability and scalability.
Solid background integrating with JSON, HTTP, RESTful services
