Senior Software Reliability Engineer - Ansible Cloud ServicesThe Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is looking for a motivated Senior Software Reliability Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of a group of highly talented software engineers who are on a mission to grow the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform offering into different cloud providers. Youll work closely with other Ansible Engineering and product management teams for building, maintaining, and managing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform managed services for our customers. Youll help us provide an enjoyable and engaging work environment. As a Senior Software Reliability Engineer, you will become a part of Red Hats culture that makes us unique in the industry and youll work with communities passionate about open source software. The Red Hat office in Durham, NC is the preferred work location, but well-qualified home-based engineers will also be considered. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software to automatically provision, upgrade, monitor, and heal a large Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform managed service in public clouds
• Support the operations of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform by responding to and troubleshooting system alerts
• Provide engineering support to Red Hats global technical support team to resolve customer issues
• Participate in the development of new features and capabilities for the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform offering on public clouds including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Participate in a global on-call rotation, including periodic weekend and holiday on-call duties for which you will be paid extra

Required skills

• Software development experience using a general purpose language; experience with Python or GoLang is a plus
• Linux administration experience; experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Fedora is a plus
• Basic knowledge of software development life cycle tools like GitHub and Jenkins
• Basic knowledge of monitoring systems
• Experience supporting a running service
• Passion for learning new technologies, building elegant software systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and automation

The following are considered a plus:

• Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
• Public speaking skills
• Experience with GitHub and operations support system (OSS) contribution
• Experience with Software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile or scrum processes
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Resource Manager Templates
