Job Description

Senior Specialist Solutions ArchitectThe Red Hat Public Sector Sales team is looking for a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect with expertise in cloud infrastructure, data center provisioning and management, containers, DevOps, and automation to join a unique team focused on managing government customer priorities and requirements within Red Hat. In this role, you will serve as an advocate for the public sector, engaging with internal consulting and engineering teams around technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. Our team of solutions architects is responsible for leading internal efforts to address the needs of strategic customers by developing unique solutions or partnering with engineering to help increase enhancements directly within the offerings. As a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect, youll need to have extensive technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and ability to identify and create business solutions at the enterprise level. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert on hybrid cloud technologies usage in federal environment
  • Collaborate with engineering and consulting services on developing solutions and enhancements
  • Submit pull requests (PRs) for production code, automated tests, and documentation to our offerings
  • Advise engineers on best practices around federal security standards like Federal Information Security Modernization (FISMA), Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), etc.
  • Advise engineers on best practices for federal cloud environments like Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, AWS C2S and SC2S, and Microsoft Azure Government
Required skills
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in a technical presales, support, or consulting role
  • Experience with containers or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of federal security standards including FISMA, FIPS, FedRAMP, etc.
  • Knowledge of and operational experience with methodologies related to agile and DevOps as well as related technologies like GitHub, GitLab, or Jenkins
  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud solutions; knowledge of deploying and running solutions in a cloud environment and private, public, and hybrid clouds
  • Solid Linux system administration skills at the Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) level or higher; relevant certifications are a plus
  • Experience with federal clouds like AWS GovCloud, AWS C2S and SC2S, or Microsoft Azure Government is a plus
