Job Description

  • Graduate or post-graduate degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in public policy/ regulatory work in a corporate environment. Experience in supporting regulatory and policy issues for operations in different parts of India preferred. Technical education preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience:
  • Experience of working with corporations with operations throughout India and understanding of various regulatory aspects related with operations.
  • Working understanding of India s central, state and local policy making processes.
  • Superior skills in advocacy and using spoken and written rhetoric to persuade and inform.
  • Others:
  • Fluency in English and flexibility to travel frequently is required.
  • Highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity, with strong professional reputation in the industry.
  • Focus and Deliverables:
  • Work collaboratively and transparently with the public policy team, operations, logistics, legal, and the India business team to enable continuity, expansion and growth in India.
  • Represent Amazon and build relationships with state and local authorities, regulatory agencies, and key policymakers in those regions to remove regulatory hurdles.
  • Oversee compliance requirement for new fulfilment centers working closely with the real estate, logistics, facilities and operations team.
  • Anticipate challenges/obstacles Amazon s operations could face as the regulatory landscape evolves.
  • Review and support inspectionsfor all Amazon India fulfillment centers from various regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure policymaker awareness of Amazon s business model.
  • o Effect change and drive policymaking that benefits our customers.
  • o Manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and initiatives in alignment with business objectives.
