Job Description

To take over from the previous shift technician/technologist.
To check and send equipments like ventilators, multi parameter monitors, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, defibrillators, ECG recorder, blood gas analyzer, TEG analyzer CPAP machine and ACT machine to biomedical department for repair/service if needed after confirming with the head of the department.
To maintain all above equipments and to keep relevant records.
To maintain checklist of all above equipments in each shift.
To ensure the items are in optimal stock and inform the same to the head of the department in case of shortage
To calibrate and keep ready all above the equipments used to receive fresh cases
To assist the staff nurses while receiving the patients
To write/enter investigation forms/request and send it to the concerning labs.
To do the blood gas analyzing (ABG), cardiac output (CO), ACT and TEG in ICU.
To do Quality control test (QC) to ABG analyzer, TEG analyzer, ACT machine and Glucometer daily.

To pack and send suction tubing, chest drainage tubing for ETO gas sterilization. Ensure that the time is tagged in each packing.
To keep the ventilators, monitors, syringe pump, infusion pumps, defibrillators and emergency lights charged always.
To ensure that the bio-medical planned preventive maintenance test (PPM) is done always before due date falls.
To assemble ventilator in aseptic way with humidifier/HMV filter.
To keep regular stock of sterile ventilator tubing and inform shortage in advance.
To ensure that the water in ventilator tubing are kept empty.
To assist the doctor and nurses during emergencies and shifting the patients.
To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives.
To be aware of departments performance and objective.
To carryout data collection/support in data collection.
To adhere to the safety norms of hospital and follow both patient and staff safety rules.
To perform any work as and when assigned by the superior/HOD
