Job Description

    As a clinical research associate (CRA), youll run clinical trials to test drugs for their effectiveness, risks and benefits to ensure that they are safe for the intended use.Youll work on new and existing drugs and will typically be involved in all stages of the clinical trial, including identifying an investigational site and setting up, initiating, monitoring and closing down the trial.Clinical trials may be carried out at various stages or phases and include trials on healthy humans, trials on patients with a disease, and studies conducted after the launch of a new drug to monitor safety and side effectClinical ResearchCoordinator Job DutiesClinical research analysts have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
    • Contacting potential participants to explain study details and answer questions about participation
    • Conducting research to identify new treatments or medical devices that could improve patient care in the future
    • Interviewing patients to gather information about their medical history and current status
    • Explaining study procedures to participants, answering questions about the study, and providing emotional support during difficult times
    • Conducting laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, as well as imaging tests such as x-rays or MRIs
    • Recording data about daily activities, physical responses, and emotional responses during research studies
    • Recording research findings in a database or notebook for further analysis by scientists
    • Reviewing existing research to identify gaps in knowledge about certain topics or methods that could be improved upon in future studies
    • Monitoring participant progress during studies by collecting data, conducting interviews, and administering tests
