About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe Data Specialist capability will be a part of the Investment Fund Analysts team is India, which is an integral part of the Investment Directing team (Equities, Fixed Income, Private Assets, Systematics and Multi Asset) based in London, Japan, Hong Kong and Canada. The team generates baseline investment communication material for Fidelity funds. This includes market reviews, fund analysis/performance & strategy commentaries for client reports, and fund presentation updates all aimed to help in asset gathering and asset retention. The role is integral to the successful functioning of each product franchise.The Investment Fund Analysts will be required to update/produce sales materials such as standard product presentations in order to enable our distribution teams to provide their clients and prospects with an informed view of the investment process behind each fund, along with explanations of current fund performance and positioning. It will also be the responsibility of the individual to provide a quick and relevant response to client queries on funds using existing material or information sourced from elsewhere in the company. The data capability function will allow the team to extend data support to internal/external stakeholders and to automate any regular reporting task, data for client queries, presentations etc.Purpose of your roleThe Data Specialist team would be part of the Investment Fund Analyats function and will be responsible for automating data reports on funds either on excel or using technology platforms such as OBIEE, Power BI, VBA, Python etc. The team will also be responsible for simplifying processes and making it more efficient where possible. The role is integral to the successful functioning of each asset class / product franchise.Key Responsibilities
• Organised process of presentation back-up updates by BD3/4 respectively
• Act as primary point of contact for data related issues/support, and partner with internal stakeholders on resolution
• Work with the team to understand opportunities for automation and work on automation and efficiency projects.
• Create intuitive data aggregations for commentary writing. Example, new issues/IPOs, top buys & sells, portfolio changes, any obvious data outliers
• Act as a bridge between technology and business to effectively communicate on data requirements and subsequent data development needs. Also work with Presentation Specialists to support on automation projects
• Queries management - handle data requests for multiple funds that come through the team mailbox.
• Work on KPI dashboards
• Help with specific Portfolio Manager /Investment Director/Sales requests that requires analysts to source from external applications like Bloomberg/DataStream/FactSet.
• Automate data sets that are not captured in regular sources such has PAS/PWS but require regular updates.
• Create a data bank of charts on valuations, GDP, PMIs, economics
• Gathering data from multiple sources and creating analytical reports using Power BI, OBIEE, excel VBA or any FIL approved reporting application. (e.g., Market Sales report)
• Building relationship between data from different internal and external sources. Creating data models and data pipelines to make it end user ready.
• Monthly documentation - specialization, specific automation, and projects stages.
• Quarterly planning and road mapping in collaboration with existing and potential stakeholders.
• Extract data and provide database/visualisation support across asset classes
• Also, present data in understandable format for sales and marketing teams
• Address ad hoc queries on funds and markets
• Assist in timely answering of RFP/RFI, sales queries and to appropriate quality
Experience and Qualifications RequiredExperience in data modelling, data transformation, VBA, MS Office, SQL Strong experience of working on OBIEE, Power BI or any visualization tool Advanced SQL and data visualization and report authoring skills. Building specialization around emerging technologies (e.g., Python, Snowflake etc). Designing solutions by analysing source data and suitable technology tools Python or VBA to connect to different data sources (e.g., excel sheets) and perform operations like data cleaning, transformation, and automation. Proven analytical skills and competent at analysing data Familiarity with databases like DataStream, Bloomberg Focussed on providing high level of customer service.
