Job Description

ExpediaDo you want to use your content strategy skills to help make travelling easier Do you love making complicated stuff simple, boring stuff interesting, and interesting stuff amazing Are you ready to help people go places As a UX Content Strategist, you will work in a multidisciplinary design team to co-create useful, meaningful, and cohesive product experiences and narratives rooted in the principles of relevancy, simplicity, and delight.You re perfect for this role if you can blend of UX writing, storytelling, and content design. You re enthusiastic about identifying user needs and then finding the right content and touchpoint to meet those needs. In this role, you will be part of a team focused on helping travelers feel confident about their travel purchases before and after booking. You will write for the user interface with an appropriate voice and tone while still meeting legal requirements. You love competitive analysis and live to bring together your insights from various places into a cohesive strategy. You understand design thinking and advocate for solutions that balance the needs of customers with business objectives.And last but not least, you re an enthusiastic craftsperson keen to create product experiences that are clear, helpful, and human. After all, we re not only propelling digital experiences, but physical ones too.What youll do with us:

  • Write clear and consistent product content everything from broad positioning and strategy to tooltips and notifications
  • Dig into user research and competitive analysis to identify, inform, and validate your work
  • Communicate your findings, recommendations, and content specifications through deliverables such as content matrices, user scenarios, presentation decks, comps, prototypes, and style guides
  • Work closely with fellow content strategists as well as designers, engineers, product managers, and many others to conceptualize content-focused experiences and bring your work to life
  • Collaborate with brand teams to shape voice and tone and implement style guides
  • Describe and present your methods, explorations, and rationale along with a recommendation to peers and team partner
  • Iterate and improve by learning and growing
  • Advocate for content standards within your immediate team and in the organization at large
What we ask from you:
  • Being a stellar writer is a given youre a designer and words are your design language.
  • Youll regularly use logic, hard data, and empathy to inform content choices and always advocate for the user. An understanding of UX, technology, and the role content plays in design is key. (This isn t a marketing role, though you may craft marketing messaging and copy.)
  • You lean on established standard practices but also love to experiment and move quickly. You understand the nuances inherent in your work and how that can help customers comprehend and use our product.
Who you are:
  • More than 3 years professional experience with content strategy for large enterprise web sites or applications, especially consumer-facing and transaction-focused interfaces
  • Knowledge of mobile first and responsive content strategies
  • Understanding of the development, sourcing, and governance of both structured and unstructured content types
  • Experience with the UX design lexicon and process
  • Understanding of SEM and SEO marketing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who plans and executes work with minimal supervision (but you ll always have support)
  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field Design, English, Communications, Journalism, HCI
  • An appetite to grow, both as a person and as a professional
  • A love of travel
