Job Description

Position Summary:

Leveraging existing automotive experience, works independently and in concert with a team of specialized automotive data researchers responsible for maintaining an accurate and comprehensive dataset of North American VIN specifications and vehicle attributes. Perform ongoing data integration works, linking the vehicle research dataset with other relevant vehicle datasets and/or identification systems. Perform additional administrative, customer service, and ad hoc project works relevant to departmental and business objectives.

What Youll Do:

Data Entry Quality Assurance

  • Using collected source materials, interpret and code comprehensive vehicle information into a proprietary data storage system, including:
    • VIN decoding rules
    • Technical specifications
    • Standard optional equipment availability
    • Vehicle safety environmental classifications

  • Maintain data quality in terms of accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in line with relevant business guidelines.
  • Interact with research colleagues and manager to optimize data quality outcomes.
  • Recommend and implement solutions to data quality issues.

Data Integration

  • Perform ongoing data reconciliation and matching activities necessary to integrate research vehicle dataset with other relevant datasets

Customer Service

  • Act as a primary point of contact for customer (internal and external) issues relating to data availability, content, and accuracy:
  • Respond to issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Escalate and/or redirect issues as necessary
  • Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure satisfactory resolutions
  • Act as a subject matter expert on vehicle specifications technology, supporting operational and sales colleagues in achieving shared objectives.

What You Need to Get the Job Done:

  • 0 -2 years relevant automotive experience
  • Strong passion for and understanding of the automotive industry
  • Extensive mechanical / technical knowledge
  • Patience and excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate information technology skills, especially data entry and administration
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to changing business requirements and priorities
  • Ability to effectively work both autonomously, and as a collaborative team member
