Job Description

As part of our EY-Assurance Team, the role revolves around providing strategic communications that can be used to inform and motivate various internal and/or external constituencies for their respective markets, functional practices or other internal clients.The opportunity We re looking for an incumbent who can Manage and executes the development of various communication deliverables that involve multiple types of media, allocates appropriate resources, manages preparation of deliverables, and communicates with senior leadership.Your key responsibilities

  • Creates moderate to complex communications for Leadership to inform and motivate various internal and external constituencies about markets, client and other functional/internal client programs and developments affecting the strategy. Drafts, obtains approval, and executes actual messages through a variety of medias including web casts, videos, speeches, meetings, presentations, e-mails, Daily Connection, Weekly Chronicle, community home space, voice-mails through leadership.
  • Possesses an understanding of markets or their respective functional practice/internal clients and also has strong comfort level working across service lines, industry and/or their respective functional practice/internal client group.
  • Co-develops with senior leadership plans to effectively communicate strategic objectives and initiatives.
  • Creates, develops and manages the project scope and schedule for simple to complex multiple projects;plans and assigns resources to associated tasks and deliverables as appropriate; manages resources, tasks based on project plan. Develops and maintains relationships with project stakeholders; manages project stakeholder s expectations; negotiates with and influences project sponsors on project specific items.
  • Understands environmental factors affecting the firm, the practice, and our markets.
  • Works with team to understand goals and objectives of Leadership as ascertained from discussions within markets or their respective functional practice/ internal clients network and synthesize messages (client service, operations, strategy, Area management).
  • Responds to inquiries about communication deliverables they or team members are responsible for and possess the poise and confidence to respond back to all levels of management within the firm.
  • Presents complex ideas and anticipates potential objections; influences others; anticipates and communicates ramifications of decisions and issues to project stakeholders and presents alternatives
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
  • Possesses knowledge in own area of knowledge and usually accomplishes work through self or subordinate professionals.
  • Often acts as project manager for large projects or directs many activities of a major staff function.
  • Work is reviewed only for results obtained. Technical knowledge/skill may substitute for managerial responsibility.
Supervision Responsibilities:
  • Receives limited supervision and is competent to work independently within area of communications and marketing activities. Review of work generally occurs at longer intervals.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening and interpretation skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, including the development of junior staff
  • Excellent project management skills
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Grad/Post Grad with 3-4 years of work experience in internal marketing, communication & branding
Ideally, you ll also have
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Interest in business and commerciality.

Position summaryThe EY GDS Assurance team is looking for a manager to build and grow our Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) team. The manager will be responsible for working closely with FAAS Partners, Senior Managers and Managers on client engagements across Americas and EMEIA. In addition to managing service delivery, the individual will provide technical support, grow the GDS Assurance services portfolio and coach Assistant Managers or Seniors.The Manager should have extensive experience in Financial Accounting and Advisory Services. The incumbent is also expected to display strong technical knowledge in US GAAP and/or IFRS. While the manager will be based either in our Gurgaon or Bangalore office, the individual will be required to travel to other countries (on a short to medium term basis) to handle client engagements.Primary responsibilities
  • Lead global or domestic client service teams to execute the following FAAS solutions:
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting Excellence
  • GAAP conversions
  • Transaction accounting
  • Accounting change (revenue recognition and lease accounting)
  • Accounting policy and governance
  • Audit remediation and readiness
  • Organizing and providing technical training
  • Addressing service delivery quality issues, if and when they occur
Manage and develop people
  • Lead a team of Assistant Managers and Seniors and make sure the team delivers high quality work, as per EY Global methodology, on time and to budget
  • Conduct FAAS team performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to the team performance
  • Identify development opportunities and training needs for high performing Assistant Managers or Seniors
Manage business and clients
  • Actively support the Americas or EMEIA FAAS leadership both in terms of growth as well as quality initiatives
  • Enhance relationships with global teams and leverage connections to identify opportunities for work at the GDS
