Job Description

    Job descriptionPosition Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager with a proven track record in successfully handling government clients in India. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the dynamics involved in dealing with government entities, including Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Central Government Officers, and State Government Officers across the country. In this role, the Sales Manager will not only be responsible for driving sales but also for managing the entire sales lifecycle, from initial engagement to order delivery and payment collection, in close collaboration with the accounts team.Key Responsibilities:Government Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with government clients at various levels, including PSUs, Central Government, and State Government officers, understanding their unique requirements and ensuring their satisfaction.Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the organisations goals and caters to the specific needs of government clients in India.Sales Target Achievement: Set ambitious sales targets and work diligently to achieve and exceed them. Regularly analyze sales data, identify trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.Order Management: Oversee the end-to-end order management process, ensuring timely processing, accurate customisation (if applicable), and adherence to delivery timelines.Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the accounts team to ensure seamless invoice generation, accurate billing, and proper documentation in compliance with government procurement guidelines.Payment Collection: Monitor payment schedules, follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve any payment-related issues in coordination with the finance and accounts departments.Market Intelligence: Stay informed about government policies, procurement procedures, and industry trends that could impact sales strategies and client interactions.Team Leadership: If applicable, manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure the team meets its targets.Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales performance, client interactions, and market insights to senior management, contributing to strategic decision-making.Qualifications and Experience:
    • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
    • MBA is a plus. Proven experience of 6 years as a Sales Manager, with a strong track record of dealing with government clients in India.
    • In-depth knowledge of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with government officials.
    • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Individual contributor is preferred.
