Job Description

    Software Development Engineer III (SRE) Do you love scalable, highly resilient systems Are you passionate about APIs and automation Search no more!The Platform Control Plane team is building out a full-stack platform to simplify discoverability and consumption of Expedia Group travel data. We re working on the next generation Platform for the Company and putting resiliency at the forefront by forming a dedicated Site Reliability Engineering team focusing on providing visibility and improving the health of the Platform.In this role, you will work closely with development teams to embed best practices when building scalable, reliable and secure Platform services and take a proactive, engineering approach to incidents.What you ll do:
    • Define and develop Platform metrics
    • Develop and perform capacity and chaos exercises
    • Create and run gameday exercises
    • Support and troubleshoot production incidents as needed
    • Orchestrate integration tests and deployments
    • Build runbooks and work with Tier 1 support teams to ensure successful handling of incidents
    • Automate processes and find opportunities to improve observability and availability of the Platform
    • Help development teams and maintain high availability
    • Participate in a community of practice to share and gain knowledge
    Who you are:
    • Bachelors degree or Masters in a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience
    • Extensive knowledge of AWS technologies
    • Extensive experience with observability tools (Logging, Metrics, Tracing)
    • Strong scripting or programming skills
    • Experience working with complex architectures
    • Experience launching and supporting production systems at large scale
    • Excellent problem solving and strong communication skills
