    Job summaryAmazon FinTech Tax organization is looking for a passionate individual who loves to design and build world-class internal customer experience and the services that make them possible. You are a talented Software Development Manager who is seeking an environment where you can drive innovation Do you have a passion for ensuring a positive customer experience This is the job for you! Its Day 1 in FinTech Tax org, and were at the beginning of building out an entire suite of global tax solutions. The FinTech Taxs Intercompany team is still in the early phases of design and development and this is your chance to shape a brand new product from the start. This role will involve managing and building tax (indirect, withholding etc.) products. Each year Amazon tax teams pay billions of dollars to tax jurisdictions on millions of transanctions. Missed or late tax filing or payment incurs financial penalty and impacts Amazon s reputation.A successful candidate for this role will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and motivation to achieve & deliver results in a fast paced environment. The candidate must have the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on system requirements with our customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. A successful candidate must be able to:
    • Leading highly talented technology teams responsible for building and owning complex services
    • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of the large, complex projects
    • Develop and maintain a culture of innovation and operational efficiency in the team
    • Influence, collaborate and communicate effectively with various leaders in Amazon
    • Hiring, growing and retaining a strong team keeping with the Amazon high bar
    • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
    • Maximize resources for the greater good of the organization
    • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
    • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

    • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
    • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
    • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
    • Master s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
    • Candidates must demonstrate proactive technical leadership, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a proven ability to multi-task and manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Candidate must have a strong customer focus and excellent expectation management abilities.
    • A BS or MS degree in Computer Science is required with 10+ years of experience managing distributed computing/server software engineering teams.
    • Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential. Strong customer focus.
