Job Description

*Position Purpose & Summary: The Origination and Risk management department carry s the end responsibility for all vegetable oil pipeline and origination related risks. The work of the junior trader involves planning and executing commodity trade transactions in function of pipelines; customer related activities and anticipatory risk. Principal Accountabilities:RISK REPORTING - 20% Daily position reconciliation: positions will be reconciled between the estimate of responsible trader and financial risk management function. The incumbent will take an active role in understanding and leading the process accordingly. The position responsibility lays with the trader, but accountability with the junior trader. The positions covered are pipelines, commodity, FX, etc. Live position management: the junior trader is the lead contact & accountable for the live position reporting via a Long & Short file. This under direct supervision of the responsible trader. PNL estimates: Reconciles routine/repetitive P&L estimates and reports on a daily/weekly basis. These cover M2M & LCM estimates. In accordance with the established game plan, participates in the production planning process including logistical positions. Supports the identification of trends and projection of future outcomes regarding supply and demand factors and communicate the same to the SCM team RISK MANAGEMENT - 50% Under general supervision, executes and hedges cash positions which includes managing Flat Price risk, Futures Spreads, and Freight Risk. With oversight from Merchandising Manager/Traders, the incumbent adds input directly into the analysis of supply and demand factors of the Indian vegetable oil complex. May monitor/manage credit risk for established accounts/customers. -What is it you want to mention With some oversight from Sr. Merchants or Merchandising Manager, frequently coordinates supply chain management components such as inventories, in-transit feedstock, production scheduling, and freight components. With direct oversight from more senior traders, the junior trader can engage into anticipatory risk taking. The game plan and limits are set up front STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT/EXECUTION - 30% Full understanding and execution of trading; FRM; CRC; RMG risk practices (FOSFA terms; VAR; stress; limits set; counterparty risk management etc.). Applies a full understanding of Merchandising practices and procedures to execute the short-term trading strategy for a specific commodity/market (e.g. origination, freight, marketing, hedging, anticipatory risk etc.). Applies a full understanding of Merchandising practices and procedures to move goods from surplus to deficit and vice versa i.e. market optimization/arbitrage, *Required Qualifications: Post graduate diploma in Business Management/Foreign Trade 2 to 3 years of experience in commodity Trading/Merchandising; Financial risk management Experience in the field of vegetable oils or Agri commodity Understanding of Indian customs regulations and other global Veg oil regulations. Experience working through (Cargill) risk management policies and controls Strong understanding of logistics and freight planning in India. Analytical and financial modelling Trend/Technical analysis tools Knowledge of Macros, Fx. Proven track record of high performance in past functions or studies Proven interest in risk taking + management Demonstrated high execution capacity Demonstrated high learning capacity Demonstrated written; verbal communication and documentation skills Proven strategic thinking, decision making and problem solving skills Strong behaviors in alignment with Cargill Leadership Expectations.
