A maintenance technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. They ensure that heating and plumbing systems perform at optimum functionality, the installations HVAC and, the upkeep of the landscape. Essentially, the goal of a maintenance technician is to maintain the facilities and common areas in the best possible condition. Maintenance technicians can work in a variety of settings including commercial and residential buildings.Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocolConduct maintenance of electrical systemsSurvey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulationsSupport the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessaryAid in budget development and ensure it is followedMaintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionalityInspect alarm systems such as carbon dioxide and fire protection and quickly schedule repairs when neededUndertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
