Job Description

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

This position is responsible for all supply and demand planning, new supply chain projects and technology to support the growth of multiple businesses of Corning India that are spread across life sciences, automotive and telecom segments.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning Process (SIOP)

  • Work closely with business leaders to define and run the SIOP.
  • Partner with business leaders to champion the adoption of SIOP, ensure rigorous implementation to make this an integral part of business operations.
  • Work closely with business leaders to execute Corning India s SKU-level demand planning and supply planning processes for each business division.
  • Coordinate and oversee the monthly demand and supply planning process while focusing on the continuous review and update of demand plan and supply plan.
  • Provide detailed analysis to identify sales trends, address variances in forecast versus actual demand and continuously strive to improve the unit demand and supply plan across multiple business groups and product lines.
  • Facilitate and direct monthly review meetings with Commercial Operations and other roles to get inputs and incorporate to final Demand Plan.
  • Facilitate and direct monthly review meetings with Corning Plants and other roles to get inputs and incorporate to supply plan matched with Demand Plan.
  • Solicit, validate and utilize customer-provided forecast data when appropriate.
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, improvement and reporting of demand planning metrics for Supply Chain activities that can become predictive intelligence for the business to act on.
  • Perform analysis using Excel, Power BI and other query and data analytics tools.

Projects

  • Lead strategic projects such as reduction in cost to serve, reduction in delivery time, delivery on time to request (OTTR), automation etc.
  • Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of Supply chain projects on time within budget and within scope.
  • Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project.
  • Prepare management reports regarding status of project.

Technology

  • Understand the present technology and the future state architecture of supply chain in India.
  • Define and get support for proposals related to technology tools required to support future state architecture.
  • Manage projects related to ERP and new supply chain technology tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required :

  • Engineering degree with MBA in Operations, Supply Chain or related discipline
  • 10 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain.
  • Strong knowledge of supply Chain concepts and processes (supply, demand, capacity and distribution planning and inventory management)
