Maintenance and Monitoring of SQL Server nMonitoring and addressing issues related to SQL Server disk space, log files, CPU, memory, sql server error logs. nRunning and troubleshooting issues related to Database and Index Maintenance. nMonitoring database growth and estimating future space requirements. nPatching of SQL Server to latest SPs and CUs. nInstallation and configuration nInstalling and configuring SQL Server Database Engine, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS instances. nInstalling SQL Server on both standalone and on a windows failover clusters. nBasic knowledge and understanding of WFC. nMigration of SQL Server nDatabase and instance permissions and access management. nTroubleshooting Performance issues nSkills to troubleshoot SQL server performance issues. nSkills to investigate layers besides the SQL server database engine. nSkills to benchmark performance and apply best practices. nSQL Server Backup/Restore nUnderstanding of all recovery models. nUnderstanding of all types of SQL Backups. nUnderstanding of point in time restores. nHigh Availability/DR nUnderstanding of SQL server HA and DR models such as: nLog shipping, Mirroring, Replication, Always-on nUnderstanding of Windows Failover Clusters n nAdditional skills as mentioned on the JD related to Windows and VMware administration would immensely help. n As a Senior Administrator, you should be able to handle first point escalation for all technical and process issues. Provide technical subject matter expertise wherever required. Ensure proper communication and quick resolution as a crisis manager. Plan and schedule Changes, Coordinating with different stakeholders. Perform RCA for Major Incidents related to his / her tower Follow quality / security process defined for the engagement. Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents, Hardware troubleshooting & Vendor coordination Prepare Weekly and monthly status reports. Participate in business meetings with various stake holders on a need basis. Take corrective actions based on the customer satisfaction surveys. Work on the service improvement programs. Effort estimation/reviews on need basis for new projects. Training of new team members. Able to work on Knowledge acquisition and updates to related documents ,
