Based in Gurgaon, News Writers will be part of global reporting teams. Filing a portfolio of news clips each day, you will produce sharp, accurate content under tight deadlines, covering a range of topics, including Consumer Business, Retail , Automotive, Food etc. You will be pivotal in shaping our daily content and developing the full range of our product offering, from breaking news to longer reports gleaned from a range of market sources, bolstered by in- house data intelligence. Our Hiring Manager says: We are looking for ambitious News Writers who enjoy generating authoritative, accurate copy in a fast- paced environment. What to Expect: Your news judgment will be at the forefront every day as you sift through company and regulatory websites, press releases, newspapers and other information sources to glean compelling, need- to- know current events and news. Using those sources, you will write a variety of news briefs (ranging from 100 words to 500 words) every day, in house style and to deadline. All of your pieces will demonstrate your sharp fact- checking acumen and eye for detail. Join teams from across the Newsroom and other parts of the company to help develop the S&P Global Market Intelligence News product. Job Responsibilities: Vets newswires, newspapers and company websites to gather and assess information and write articles about the consumer industry. Writes news briefs based on newspaper stories, press releases and filings. Completes other assignments or projects as assigned. Desired profile : Interest in writing News Stories/ Articles/ Content/ Blog Writing is preferred. Should hold a college degree; B. A. / M. A. in English / Mass Communication / Journalism or related course preferred. Strong English writing skills with fluency in spoken English. Command of U. S. - style journalistic best practice (AP style, libel issues, etc) . Good vocabulary and grammar knowledge for effective business writing. Ought to have basic computer literacy and a familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (especially MS Word) . Familiarity with journalistic story structure and styling conventions also mandatory. Interest in general news. Ability to work under strict deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.,
