Job Description

    Business Unit Overview Blackstone Insurance Solutions (BIS) is Involved in customizing investment products by leveraging Blackstone s credit platforms and diversified suite of alternatives to support insurers as they meet their obligations to stakeholders, invest in product innovation, and offer competitive retirement security and property protection products Blackstone Insurance Solutions leverages Blackstone s leading investment platforms and people with the goal of delivering bespoke investments based on each insurer s unique objectives, outlook and risk profile. Responsibilities: The analyst will be an integral part of the wherein he will support the larger team in New York Initial Responsibilities include: Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include: Working with the team to perform due diligence on prospective investments within the credit space, with a focus on Structured Credit. This will include meeting with potential borrowers and their teams, industry/strategy research, and quantitative analysis. Monitoring of existing investments, which includes tracking key risks/mitigants and continuously challenging the validity of the investment thesis. Working with other members of the Investment Team to source, diligence, and underwrite investment opportunities, leveraging Blackstone s various groups where appropriate. Drafting and presenting memorandums for Investment Committees. Modeling and evaluating various types of deal structures. Developing and utilizing a personal network to source new investments and assist in building a deeper understanding of existing investments. Thinking creatively about ways to improve the team s existing process, and helping to ensure quality, consistency and thoroughness in the team s approach. Qualifications: Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, a successful candidate will have: A desire to work in a team environment, often under strict time constraints. Superior financial modeling skills, with past experience modeling and evaluating structured credit transactions. Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA. Strong communication skills. 2-5 years of relevant work experience at a sell-side structuring or trading desk, or a hedge fund working in structured credit. Desired Candidate Profile: Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools. Very Good written & spoken communication skills; Good Analytical Skills & problem solving skills Pro-active & Positive Attitude Ability to Work efficiently and effectively in a team; Excellent Customer facing Skills and Ability to build Rapport with Clients Have the ability to escalate issues on time to ensure quick resolution Good phone & email etiquettes. DOMAIN SKILLS Very good understanding of Financial Products and having a hands on experience on a mix of Structured Credit Experience and quantitative experience. General understanding of Private Equity / Real Estate / Hedge Funds Hands on experience of Private Equity / Real Estate / Hedge Funds systems,
