Job Description

About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe Business change team supports a range of programmes at a strategic level for Workplace and Personal Financial Health business. The team manages multiple programmes of change for the Workplace Investing (WI) platform, Retail (FNW & PI) Global regulatory and Client Experience.Purpose of your roleTo work within the Project Management team within Business Change team and to provide project management to deliver it s strategic change programmes and business readiness workstreams co-ordinating resources across all teams required to support change, driving projects and programmes, resolving issues, managing risks and ensuring that changes are successfully implemented into the business. Project management will be required for both driving continuous improvement changes and larger projects delivery.Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sponsor, Accountable Executive and key stakeholders to agree scope and timeline for delivery of project
  • Confirm scope and timelines, produce project plans, agree key milestones and dependencies.
  • Secure resources from impacted teams in the UK and India - assign roles and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate solutions and ensure timely delivery of all deliverables / products.
  • Work with the Scrum teams, Product Owners and other project stakeholders
  • Work with other work stream project managers to agree roles and responsibilities, interfaces, dependencies etc.
  • Work closely with Technology delivery teams and wider business teams
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance based on knowledge from previous roles / projects.
  • Manage Sponsor and Stakeholder relationships.
  • Interface with other impacted parties, internal and external as required.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and escalate if required.
  • Chair project meetings.
  • Chair / contribute to Steering Committee presentations and meetings.
  • Produce progress reports and other management information as appropriate.
  • Complete project closure including conducting post project reviews.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience managing projects from initiation through to implementation.
  • Experience and understanding of Agile methodology
  • Preferably Association of Project Management, PRINCE 2 (or similar) qualified.
  • Good understanding of the business structure, systems architecture and development cycle.
  • Experience of working within Financial Services and experience working with Client Services, Retail Operations (including SIPP), DC Operations, Technology and / or third parties.
  • Preferably some experience / knowledge of systems used by FIL e.g. GFAS, XTRAC, DCS Core, Administrator (Aquila), BPM, Web, PlanViewer, Composer, Sonata etc.
  • Experience of engaging / communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of chairing and presenting at Steering and project meetings.
  • Sense of urgency and awareness of when to escalate issues.
  • Self-motivated, a proactive approach with an analytical, enquiring mind and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work on own initiative to achieve objectives and goals, requesting support when and where required.
  • Strong sense of ownership with ability to work on challenging issues and overcome constraints and obstacles.
  • Dedication to accuracy, timeliness and high productivity while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
