  • Delivery Team achieves leading edge process improvement and delivers on automation opportunities, ensuring change is sustained by equipping the business with the right skills, tools and techniques
  • Centre of Excellence supports project delivery by building capability, providing operational maintenance support ensuring tools and methodologies remain up-to-date with industry developments and delivering the ongoing risk and control framework for our new automation tools
Process Simplification and Optimisation DescriptionProcess Simplification and Optimisation is a newly formed, dynamic and exciting multi-skilled team that designs, builds and executes an automation strategy using Process Excellence, Robotic Process Automation, Business Process Management, Digital and AI tools.
  • Delivering sustainable change across Fidelity by focusing on top down, strategic business priorities to maximise business and commercial value
  • Empowering and upskilling internal teams to create sustainable capability, and promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement as part of new and improved ways or working
  • Leveraging an integrated operating model to work with IT, Risk, Compliance, and Shared Services with an objective to deliver better outcomes for the business and our customersPurpose of the RoleAs a member of the Process Simplification and Optimisation Delivery, you will work closely with process excellence, delivery and our working practitioners to design, develop and implemement simplified and optimised processes and progress the teams agenda.You will support Delivery Leads by providing design thinking, technical expertise and guidance during engagement with the business to generate buy-in to the Process Simplification and Optimisation function.You will ensure simplified and optimised processes are delivered and maintained in line with CoE methodologies, design standards, tools and governance framework.
Key ResponsibilitiesSolution design and delivery
  • Works closely with the business, PEX and delivery to help understand requirements and design solutions which are data driven, challenge existing approaches, maximise benefit realisation, considering new and emerging technologies where appropriate
  • Support the Scrum Master in overseeing assigned delivery teams as they perform day-to-day tasks, ensuring they live Agile values and principles, and shielding them from outside distractions
  • Provides design, technical and delivery excellence support throughout the delivery lifecycle, acting as a key point of escalation, review and validation
  • Identifies commercially viable use cases for technology solutions which may not yet be part of the toolkit. Where viable, runs PoCs or Pilots in new technologies
  • Supports the Methods Lead by providing insight in the definition of CoE methodologies, design standards and tools
  • Drives adoption and consistent application of CoE governance framework, methodologies, design standards and tools by providing technical input to approaches and their application during delivery
  • Conducts quality control of delivery solutions and performs reviews as appropriate (e.g. code, as is / to be process mapping)
  • Identify opportunities to apply continuous improvement within the Process Simplification and Optimisation team
  • Provide selected specialist skills in a selection of our tools where appropriate (e.g. deep knowledge in Appian or Blue Prism) whilst having a broad understanding of all our tools
  • Helps foster a culture of healthy contention and debate within the delivery function
Stakeholder engagement
  • Works closely with the Delivery Leads to foster strong business relationships and build the Process Simplification and Optimisation brand across Fidelity
  • Supports business customers and acts as the key design/technical point of contact in the assessment and validation of suitable opportunities for simplification and optimisation
  • Ensures a strong relationship, through Agile delivery, between delivery teams and product owners, as well as other key stakeholders outside the teamCapability build
  • Works with the IA Change & Implementation Lead and Technical Learning Manager to input into the technical / process optimisation learning materials and content
  • Provides line management and growth for developers and senior developers ensuring their delivery responsibility is balanced with career aspirations and skills
Coaching and leading others
  • Leads, motivates and develops direct and in-direct reports to maximise the engagement and motivation of team members in the achievement of their objectives utilising the Fidelity performance management framework, role model behaviours and the culture & values of Fidelity
  • Acts as an effective advisor, understanding advisees career aspirations and development areas, and providing support for team members and leadership alikeExperience and Qualifications Required
  • Experience leading successful agile development teams with an established track record in similar capacity / industry / coverage with demonstrable experience with automation tools and methodologies (e.g. RPA, Machine learning, AI, Process Excellence, BPM)
  • Demonstrable experience in specialist professional and technical tools such as: Automation (RPA, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence), Business Process Management, Agile development / testing (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps) and Operational Excellence approaches and methodologies (Lean thinking, Process excellence, System & Management Thinking), Performance Analytics, Performance Management, Service Delivery, Operational Change Management, P&L Management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of influencing and motivating others at a senior level to achieve results and exceed targets. Ability to communicate complex and emotive topics to different audiences through a range of data, written and verbal methods
  • Proven experience of leadership within the transformation of a business including significant personal contribution to the success of the initiative and the measurable impact on customers, employees and performance
  • Significant experience in deploying best practices for Process Excellence and Automation (RPA, BPM, Machine Learning, AI) within a mid - large organisation
  • Proven experience of using agile methodologies to deliver large-scale change management projects i.e. using sprint methodologies and daily Scrum huddles to ensure team alignment and mitigate any risks or blockers
  • Hands on experience in Restful API development and with application integration using APIs
  • Experience using database technologies
  • Experience of preparing, delivering updates, strategies and presentations to all parts of the organisation (up to Associate Director / Senior management level)
  • Substantial change management experience across multi-functional, multi-site, multi-product and multi-distribution channels
  • Experience running PoCs or Pilots with clear evaluation criteria and actionable outcomes leading to production solutions
  • Experience with UX/UI design
  • Proven project and programme management experience and ability to deliver results in a fast paced and energetic environment
  • Proven experience of building team dynamics to deliver outcomes through a structured approach. Capable of coaching and mentoring team members to shape performance improvement outcomes while building individual and team capability
  • Experience of delivering capability building and training to business stakeholders at all levels: awareness, tools & techniques, technical subject matter, leader, case studies etc.
  • Excellent stakeholder and influencing skills, including communication, negotiation of deadlines and requirements, management of expectation, recommendations, quality of outputs etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of working to conceptual briefs provided by an internal or external stakeholders and clients
  • Relationship management experience, particularly regarding the performance of outsourcing (as a customer or provider)Education:
  • First degree level (Bachelor s degree) or equivalent
  • Desirable: MBA and/or consultancy experience
  • Desirable: Recognised Scrum Master certification
  • Knowledge of the financial service industry
