Ciena makes your social / entertainment / business existence REAL.What will you do at Ciena The Packet Software and Access (PSA) R&D organization is responsible for delivering platform-independent Service Aware Operating System (SAOS) and Access products to support Mobile Backhaul, Enterprise, NFV and White-box based applications in access and aggregation tiers of the network.Gurgaon R&D center has seen exponential growth in various dimensions including development, test and release planning. In last 6 years, Gurgaon test team has grown to be the largest team across globe having ownership of multiple PSA products/releases. Team has huge state-of-art engineering lab in Gurgaon and real time exposure to Tier-1 service provider network deployments.Product Verification team charter is to ensure coverage of basic feature testing across all PSA product lines. Team works closely with R&D Software, Automation development and Regression teams to deliver high quality releases.As part of this team, you will be getting exciting opportunity to work on next generation technologies like Containers, Dockers, Virtualized Network Functions, advanced MPLS concepts, L3 protocols, Whitebox, D-NFVi.Role overview overview of the focal points of this role

• We re looking for an experienced, Test Engineer in IP Routing and switching domain, passionate about advancing the state of the art and about delivering innovative products in networking and routing/switching technologies. You will work on various market-leading technologies in a virtualized, micro-services oriented, container-based system architecture. This is an exciting time to join Ciena, as we aggressively drive our product portfolio forward into the future of advanced networking services.
• Establish yourself as an IP Routing/Switching engineer for the application of IP Control Plane in delivering the next generation of applications.
• Always continue learning and developing skills technologies: system and network virtualization, advanced routing, MP-BGP, L2VPN,EVPN, LDP, RSVP/RSVP-TE, MPLS, fast switchover technologies, management interface like Netconf, gnmi, Ethernet services and more.
• Establish yourself as a expert in L2VPN, EVPN, MPLS/MPLS-TP, LDP, Switching Technologies LFA/RLFA
• Trouble shoot Internal reported issues in routing protocol and services; identify root cause, diagnose, debug document and help developers in faster defect resolution
• Able to define test plan/cases, develop automation, validation, and documentation to deliver high quality, functionally excellent products.
• Work in an agile development environment and participate in sprint activities to plan and produce rapid cycle, high quality deliverable, co-ordinate QA activities across scrums.

Required Skills:

• Requires expert, hands-on, strong in-depth and deployment-tested knowledge in L2/L3 MPLS/LDP/RSVP, L2VPN, EVPN, Protection switching(LFA,RLFA), Traffic Engineering, MPLS services, network virtualization. Manageability - Netconf/Yang, Telemetry, gNMI, ZTP, AAA, TLS/PKIX.
• Customer and Quality champion be able to review, provide comments in Functional specifications,
• Technical Requirements, Design test plans for high quality product and higher customer satisfaction.

• Hands-on experience who can root cause and solve complex defects, often working with cross-functional teams, software design, PLA. Interact with PLA to understand the Customer Requirements and work with software to make sure its implementation.
• Strong Commitment to product excellence and quality.

• Developed skills as an excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to influence and also the ability to absorb, germinate, and evolve new ideas in collaboration with other contributors
• Experience in Ixia or Spirent Test tools.
• Python programming and trouble shooting skills are must and should be able to perform feature automation.
• Netconf/gnmi/Telemetry exposure is added advantage
• Familiarity with product cycles and deployment journeys for carrier class products in Service Provider customer environments.
• Self-starter with a strong can do belief, committed to delivering quality results on aggressive timelines. Effectively able to work independently with little hands-on supervision.
• Team oriented; strong inter-personal skills and ability to understand customers needs, expectations and perspective.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask on multiple projects, with good time management skills and stay focused under pressure.

Education and Experience:

• 5 year of experience in Manual Testing and Automation.
• Bachelor s/ Master s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effectively able to collaborate with multiple teams across geographically diverse areas.
