About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe data value team within the central data function is facilitating the adoption of a data led culture at FIL. Senior business leaders struggle to get access to the right data, MI/insights and analytics for key functional problems. The data value team is a central team made up of different data capabilities such as analytics, MI, data engineering and business analysis and helps different departments define the right MI and Analytics. The Central data function provides significant data and reporting services to different consumers and departments across Fidelity. These services include establishing data governance processes, meta data and data quality management, data architecture, data lake (Snowflake) and API s adoption along with development of new reporting and analytical applications.Purpose of your roleThis is a challenging opportunity for senior data professionals who are able to understand the senior stakeholder requirements for MI and Analytics and work with the analysts to translate them into solution designs. It includes building a good understanding of FIL s application and data ecosystem along with solving complex functional, technical and architectural issues around data analysis, modelling, quality assessment and integrations along with the ability to understand the implication of the chosen technical strategy and ensure alignment with business context. The candidate will be expected to interact with all levels of the business and technical community, seeking approval from all stakeholders of the projects.The candidate should be an expert in data management and design including and not limited to ETL architecture, database technologies, data modelling, data quality, performance management, etc. while demonstrating a keenness to master, suggest and work with different technologies & toolsets. The role would also involve intensive interaction with the business and other systems groups, so good communication skulls and the ability to work under pressure are absolute must.This role will face off to senior stakeholders in the organisation so the successful candidate will therefore be personable, articulate and have strong facilitation skills to help take initiatives forward.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategize

• Accountable for developing a roadmap for the evolution of the data, BI and Analytics use cases based on business requirements and organisation strategies such as cloud and API
• Understand FIL s application and data landscape to be able to solve cross functional problems/requirements
• Organize strategy sessions with senior stakeholders to drive analytics culture, explore collaboration opportunities and generate requirements
• Understand, advocate and augment the principles of data, BI and Analytics strategies along with tools/technologies.

Lead & Communicate

• Work with different portfolio heads and their data strategy leads to understand current state deficits in data quality, availability, access and work with them to improve upon the same
• Lead the overall development of the MI/Analytics solution working with immediate team members and the extended engagements within the cross functional team

Innovate

• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
• Working with the business unit or domain architect, analyse the technology industry, competitors and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.

Architect

• Manage and develop the architecture for a range of projects, working closely with domain architects that manage the architecture for a shared aspect of the architecture.
• Define necessary local principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprises future-state architecture vision.
• Interact with senior architects and other consultants to understand and review the technical solution and direction
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot issues; and take a leading role in the ongoing support and enhancements of the applications
• Proactively refactor code/solution, be aggressive about tech debt identification and reduction

Deliver

• Design and lead the implementation of a data integration architecture across a group of specific products, business applications and technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
• Work closely with the project managers, leads to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised.
• Work with designers, engineers and developers in a global delivery model to ensure that low level designs are consistent with the specified architecture.
• Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.

Experience and Qualifications

• BE / B-Tech / MCA
• 13 -18 years of total experience,

Essential Skills

• Good Knowledge in Architectural and Design patterns
• Architecting, planning and implementation of e2e data warehouse and business intelligence systems utilizing best practices from data architecture, data integration and management areas - 6 years
• Expert data modelling skills; entity relationship as well as dimensional, designing various layers of data warehouse, etc - 6 years
• Data analysis, source system analysis and data mapping to target data model - 8 to 10 years
• Extensive knowledge in data integration architecture/ETL/Data warehouse, esp large volumes with complex integrations - 8 years
• Good knowledge of reporting tools such as OBIEE, Tableau with understanding of different types of reporting, storytelling using visualization, etc
• Good knowledge of emerging alternate tools/technologies like Big Data technologies, Snowflake, AWS, etc.
• Overseeing and reviewing the application design & development to ensure that it meets both the technical constraints of the architecture and the business objectives in terms of reliability, scalability and serviceability
• Ability to identify and define non-functional requirements and design systems to meet the same
• Knowledge of application architecture to ensure performance and scalability, including the identification and alleviation of bottlenecks.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and problem solving skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience in preparing Technical Documentation (Pseudo Code, Process Flow , Data Model, Class Diagram )
• Experience in using other ETL tools like Informatica, Airflow, Matillion, NiFi
• Exposure to Data quality, complex transformation such as B2B, metadata management, etc
• Exposure and sound understanding of financial services domain - Mutual Funds and Fund accounting
• Self-starter with ability to take ownership of end to end implementations
• Candidate must be willing to travel overseas at short notice for the duration necessitated by project needs.
