Site engineers act as day-to-day managers on a construction site and the main source of technical advice and quality control for everyone working on it. The role also involves leveling and surveying a site, checking drawings and quantities and ensuring the accuracy of calculations.Key tasks of the job include:managing parts of construction projectsoverseeing building workundertaking surveyssetting out siteschecking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctlysupervising contracted staffensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescalesliaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project managerproviding technical advice and solving problems on-sitepreparing site reports and filling in other paperworkliaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materialsensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.
