We are seeking Software Engineers who will drive next generation architectural and design choices, invent new features, develop distributed services, keep financial data secure, and build a scalable, service-oriented and performance oriented platform for our customers. A successful candidate will be a role model to set an example for engineers in your team as well as influence across teams through his/her dive deep and execution of technical and functional assignments with their team. You will develop algorithms for efficient and error free transactions as well as ensuring tractability of every transaction in real-time. You will build algorithms to get insights from transaction data for potential savings for Amazon. You will build processes that drive accountability within your team, where people assume and take responsibility for actions and decisions. Amazon is a premier place to build, deploy and operate internet-scale services., 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. Strong problem solving skills Strong coding skills Passion for building scalable, global, complex systems to solve problems with proven ability to deliver high quality software. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts. Innovative and creative with Web technologies to build high performing websites and web services. Demonstrated proficiency with AJAX, Javascript, CSS is a plus. Bachelors in Computer Science or in a relevant Engineering discipline. Strong analytical thinker who knows how to pick the right tool for the job Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including Agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical customers in order to understand ambiguous problems and articulate technical designs and solutions to complex problem Experience managing and supporting large and complex mission-critical production systems. Working knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle, from initial requirements through operational support. Experience in 24x7 on-call support for critical-severity problem resolution. Experience in root cause analysis, remediation, and problem resolution for complex systems. Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion.
