As a Communications Specialist, you will have existing relationships with top tier media in your market and an innate ability to tell inspiring stories, that motivate and engage others. The ideal candidate has prior PR experience (in-house or with a PR agency), creativity and documented experience and a passion for engaging with media and senior stakeholders on a daily basis. The candidate will be a highly motivated person, willing always to learn, as its crucial for his/her work success. She/He has to work with the SEA/India Comms. team as a cluster, as well stay connected with the local marketing/digital and sales teams, ensuring an aligned approach.What youll be doing: - Develop and implement internal & external communications plans, focused on telling stories around our core technology, our products, our people, our places and the Dyson philosophy, to support Dysons reputation and category growth in India- As a Communications Specialist, youll manage and respond to day-to-day media enquiries and ensure a wide spectrum of press are kept up to speed with Dyson news- You will also use your knowledge of the media landscape in India, to expand and deepen existing contacts with traditional media, influencers and KOLs- Youll monitor, analysis and respond to press coverage and social media interactions as well as share news reports with the wider team in India and global comms. team- Youll manage and work closely with external partners and ensure a consistently high level of execution across all channels- Youre curious and always on the lookout for new opportunities to tell the Dyson story in your market. Youll actively make recommendations on how to flaunt Dyson technology and reach new media and influencers in India, always focused on delivering quality coverage - Youll identify and raise emerging issues that may impact Dysons reputation and make recommendations on how to manage their impact- Youll be responsible for the successful management of different projects at the same time, prioritising and meeting deadlines to deliver the work on time and on budget- Youll organise and execute events as well as virtual/physical media briefings with key media and influencers throughout the year- Youll be part of a strong, energetic team, supporting Dysons communications across the 5-year plan in IndiaWhat we would like to see from you:- As a Communications Specialist youll have a minimum of 5 years experience in Communications, in-house or with a PR agency- Passion for technology and strong understanding of Dysons products and/or experience in working for or with a global organization in a consumer/and or corporate PR capacity- Deep understanding and network with media/journalists, social influencers and/or content creators across multiple cities in India- Youll have excellent listening, writing and presentation skills, combined with attention to detail. Prior experience in journalism will be an advantage- Rich experience in project management, meeting tight deadlines and resourcefulness- Degree educated with a bachelors degree or higher is preferred- You will be fluent in English (written and spoken) The ideal candidate will also have:- Excellent storytelling ability, robust commercial understanding- Experience working with a Consumer Electronics organization- Calm under pressure, resilient and with a track-record of good judgement and an ability to roll up sleeves and get things done- Unafraid to challenge, be challenged and ask/answer difficult questions- Willingness to admit when wrong and accept an alternative strategy- Tenacity and persistence in pursuing answers to problems and comfortable with change and ambiguity- An ability to work with and influence key stakeholders across the business, through informed and logical argument and discussion, tempered by a sense of humour- Utmost discretion.
