By bringing together product, technology and operations, we accelerate innovation, enable test and learn, and constantly push ourselves to evolve and innovate for the business.A focused and highly motivated Database Engineer/ architect to work in a growing, critical OLTP ecommerce database environment, supporting both SQL and Non-SQL databases. You will be based out of Gurgaon location.Job Mission: You are responsible for maintaining the EGs database systems including back-up, performance tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring critical events and documentation.What you ll do:
• Research, evaluate and recommend MS SQL products and monitoring/management tools
• Research, evaluate and recommend MS SQL solutions (existing & emerging) and best use cases for them
• Conduct system performance evaluations both on premise and AWS
• Research, evaluate and make available patches, new releases and functionality enhancements
• Assist Development Teams in designing, modeling and validating MS SQL solutions for their applications
• Independently develop and sustain technical knowledge, certifications and skills
• Effectively multi-task handling day-to-day assignments given moderate directions and supervision
Who are you:
• Extensive familiarity of database performance monitoring and analysis tools
• Knowledgeable in designing, developing & documenting use cases
• Thorough understanding of RDBMS system and architecture with emphasis on MS SQL 2014 and 2016, 2019
• Thorough understanding of database mirroring and transaction log shipping, including Always On availability
• Expertise in database server specification, performance tuning, analysis and optimization
• Experience in a 24x7, high traffic OLTP environment
• Strong Experience in database disaster recovery planning and recovery
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex database administration problems
• Extensive experience with database transnational replication
• Extensive experience in administrating/configuring databases in a Windows 2012/2016 clustered environment
• Extensive experience working with database developers, engineers, and different operations and applications engineering teams to help them to identify, analyze, and resolve database performance issues
• Experience/Competency in performing Linux Administration tasks
• Familiarity with Linux operating system administration desired
• Experience with MySQL, Cassandra, Postgres and/or MongoDB desired
• Team-player, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to multitask
• Experience with AWS desired; AWS certification highly desired
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
