Job Description

*Structural EngineerJob Overview: Civil/structural design and analysis of assigned deliverables in a McDermott project including specific complex deliverables such as tanks, structures, modules, foundations, paving, drainage and roads.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and construction documents.
  • Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
  • Mentors junior Civil/Structural Engineers and depending on size and complexity of scope of work may be assigned as the Civil/Structural Engineering Lead for a project.
  • Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change.
  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions.
  • Prefer BSCE degree and prefer EIT or PE certificate of registration.
  • Typically has the following years of detail civil engineering experience:
    • Level III: 4-10
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with codes and standards of ACI, AISC and ASCE and is generally current on latest scientific and engineering methods.
  • Possesses a technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
Other Details:
  • US: ABET engineering degree.
