Job Description

The Technology function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance and customer service functions. Purpose of your roleReporting to the Technical Lead, the incumbent will be part of the Client Operations team whose primary focus is the delivery of core client services, such as desktop builds, virtual desktop infrastructure, mobile device management, the packaging and deployment of applications, and the security / compliance of the estate.The role will be a combination of day-to-day support activities and project work. This will involve liaison at all levels within Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) and various business communities.This role will have a primary focus on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Citrix global services, part of which incorporates VDI. There will also be requirements to cross train and provide cover for other technologies supported by the team.Your key accountabilitiesYour key responsibilities are as follows.
  • Supporting and maintaining the global XenDesktop 7.x infrastructure on prem and in cloud
  • Supporting and maintaining the global thin client estate (Wyse ThinOS terminals)
  • Troubleshooting escalated issues with Citrix infrastructure (XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler Gateway, Storefront)
  • Own, identify, diagnose, and manage infrastructure issues to resolution.
  • Managing escalations and providing technical updates as required
  • Reporting
  • Capacity management
  • Participate in and manage technical project work.
  • Proactively managing and coordinating service improvement initiatives
  • DR / BCP testing
  • Could work weekends and unsociable hours as required or as part of a support rota.
  • Assist in the maintenance of product roadmaps and strategy.
Your skills and experience
  • Extensive technical experience supporting Enterprise VDI environments based on XenDesktop/VMware.
  • Proven Enterprise level Citrix infrastructure support (XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler Gateway, Storefront)
  • Extending the environment (via automation or other products) to address non-standard requirements or provide additional value.
  • Strong understanding / experience of the following products/technologies:
  • NetScaler Gateway
  • VMware vSphere
  • Enterprise storage
  • Management of Wyse ThinOS
  • Windows 10 & Windows Server 2012 onwards
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • WAN / LAN technologies and principles
  • Experience with the following is an advantage:
  • Azure
  • SCCM (current branch)
  • App-V 4.x onwards
  • Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office 2012 onwards
  • Strong scripting capability (inc. VBScript and PowerShell)
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Citrix certification an advantage
  • Service oriented
  • A disposition to take responsibility.
  • An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
